Makes me wonder who is the oldest on the board? Any octogenarians here?
Close. Less than a year away. Born in Syracuse, grew up in Syracuse, went to SU, and Cornell for law school. Then moved away, first to NYC, and then WDC. Now in Florida most of the year. Still have family and friends in Syracuse and spend Summers there. Never miss a football or lacrosse game on TV. Used to never miss a basketball game either, until last season. Then watched some Siena BB.

I'm constantly amazed that many of the new names I've seen over the years have thousands of posts.
totally agree.

I also think anyone over 70 who wasnt here 25 years ago and anyone under 45...maybe 40 if they pass a test...should not be allowed to post and certainly not be allowed to post in response to me.

no time for idiots.

ivd spent too many years educating people on how to post, if you are not in that window...leave.

Serious Advice: Don't trash players. Nothing will get you disciplined quicker. To be more clear it's ok to say
Mike McMuffedit has some turnover issues and question whether we need to see the backup. It's not ok to say Mike McMuffedit is a piece of garbage, he's crap, etc. Stay on topic, stay away from personal attacks or...

I am 87 years old and a SU Fan since the 1950's but I don't talk too much on the site cause I'm not a local anym unless ore. I now live in Florida but never miss a SU Football , Basketball or Lacross game unless I can't find it on TV. I had Season Tix for many years before I retired. Go Orange !!!
Cool you are in the running I think.

Thanks to all the octogenarians/soon to be octogenarians. My father would have a few of you beat had he not passed a few years ago. I always enjoyed my father's Orangemen fandom, I enjoy you sharing your Orangemen fandom. Please do not stop ... unless you suddenly become PSU or Georgetown fans, then break your keyboards.

Just want to thank the community in general. I've been caretaking for my father whose battling cancer. This has always been a fun community but more important as an escape this summer. Cheers to all.

We won't be able to make trips up for games this season but we'll be cheering from NJ instead of our seats in Sec. 248.

I ask everyone going to the Dome this season to give an extra 1% on 3rd downs for our absence and make that place hell for visiting players/coaches.

Maybe we can catch the bowl game if its late enough. 😉

G'Orange!

Thanks for your comments and recollection of your dad's fandom. Same with me. But PSU and GT will NEVER happen with me. And add ND to the list, if not at the very front. Have you ever heard about the 1961 Syracuse/ND football game . . . .? [I've written about it elsewhere on these pages and will write about it any chance I get. I'm still PISSED! Almost 64 years later. I remember it like it happened yesterday. Somewhere I have a scapbook I made of all the newspaper articles about it at the time. The back and forth columns between Stanley Woodward of the New York Herald-Tribune (pro-SU) and Red Smith of the New York Times (pro-ND). All were reprinted in the old Herald-Journal. I have to find it! Maybe post some photos of some of the articles on here. Maybe it needs its own thread, if not its own Forum.]

Best wishes and prayers for your father!

Yes, I have heard of the 1961 ND game. First from my father and many times on this site. I miss Steve/SWC75 and his reminiscing of Orangemen past. I love the old stories, even on reruns.

Hoping my generation keeps running as you guys pass the torch.
