It is fine if that is how he wants to play but to play slow and win at the rate of those teams, GMac will have to bring in NBA-level talent. We will need a serious upgrade in talent. Can't be a combo of Syracuse and Siena players and win that way. We will need real NBA-type players on the roster.

People are downplaying this, but it is no coincidence that our downward turn happened at the same time we stopped having 1st round draft picks on the team. It has been so long since we have had an actual star on the team that people have forgotten that it used to be the norm.

Aside from the mandatory bromides G-Mac emphasized efficiency and taking care of the ball. He was highly aware of those metrics for his Siena players. We were oblivious to these metrics. JJ, bless his heart, was terribly inefficient and Kiyan was perhaps the least efficient player in Division 1. You cannot win with inefficiency. We did not play smart. My image of this years team is JJ bricking 3's when the team falls behind and Kiyan thinking he is Steph Curry.

I compare the hiring of Gmac to a scene in Bravehart. The Scottish Clans were all fractured, similar to Syracuse basketball fans.
