Going to be interesting to see how they call the game. First conference game for us, newbies, with negative results for the conference overall if we win. I'm not expecting any help! The opposite, actually.

Any Clemson/ACC fans chime in on how the league's zebras have behaved over the years?

Ron Cherry scares FSU and Clemson fans especially Seminole fans though. I love how bad his crew is because it always hurts the better team.

If Cuse gets flagged for their pants being too high over the knee caps during the First Series...it'll be a long day.
Painful to this day.

The league has been very hospitable. No vesting period, full share, great home game for league opener... now how bout a little home cookin to go with all that.

5-10 years ago this would make me nervous. In this day of age where everything is "instant news" via Twitter, Blogs, ESPN, and stuff goes viral in 3 seconds of it happening. I mean look at the fallout from that Wisconsin-Arizona St game Ref's blunder a few weeks back. Ref's these days must cover their own rear-end before "helping" any one team.

The days of refs playing favorites are for the most part over with I believe in all sports. Too much attention and instant attention is placed on stuff. Ref's can't get away with stuff they could years ago.

was it a LSU game a few years back where the ref tripped upthe running back and nothing came of it.

Tell that to the Syracuse basketball team that lost to Ohio State in the elite eight two year ago.

Big East officiating was consistently horrible. I suspect we'll see similar incompetence.

Que sera sera.

I actually think that game was called fairly and the better team won that day. It actually got me banned from the chat room for a year on this site for simply saying "Ohio St deserved to win"...that's not me trying to stir crap up. That's my honest belief.

Yeah - no need to rehash old things. It almost had me wondering why I follow sports at all...

Hopefully, those days are past. Just a fairly called game will do.

Tennessee...

I went to the Fiesta Bowl that year and saw the Vols beat Florida State for the championship. I just kept shaking my head.

A lot of the BE guys are now working in the ACC.

I must have been watching another game! There's a big difference between a game that is called fairly and one that has a ton of make-up calls after the game was completely altered by bad calls. If a ref crew is truly neutral and makes a bad call, they usually have a make-up call shortly after. The refs in the OSU game clearly had an agenda IMO.

I would like to think no fair-minded referee is going to make a make-up call. You make a mistake, you move on and try not to repeat the mistake. Trying to correct a mistake by making another bad call only leads to more problems.

I know one thing, the D backs for both NC St & Clemson got to use their hands a little in that game. It was a good physical game and SU needs to themselves in check. BE game the refs would have called the cops and peppered sprayed the first three rows.

I doubt the ACC replay officials could be any worse than what we had in the BE. I'm still pi$$ed about that Rutgers game last year.

I don't think anything could be worse than the crew from the NW game last year in the Dome.
