You're crazy and are having revisionist history about Janulis. Cooney is a much better overall player (ball handling, defending, rebounding) than Janulis was. And a much better athlete.

Who said anything about expectations? My only point was Janulis <<< Cooney at the same stage. Not even close to the caliber of player or the potential.

No, not based on one game. Based on last year, this year's exhibitions and this year's preseason games. Cooney played a lot last year, and is a starter this year. Janulis didn't play at all as a freshman and was a reserve for the majority of the following year.

Proof is in the pudding, and no kidding Cooney won't shoot like that every game. But if you can't see that Cooney is a much better overall player than Janulis was then I don't know what to tell you.

that's why i am saying based on 1 game because he didn't show me anything last year to prove that he will be a player for us. He looked great yesterday, but you can't count on that every game.

I really can't believe I'm having this argument as long as I am but I will try again.

Cooney's defense is very good at the top of the zone. Cooney has the ability to put the ball on the floor and finish. He's not great at it yet, but he has much more aptitude in both of these areas than Janulis did.

Cooney isn't going to shoot like that every game - yes, I agree. I think everyone agrees.

To say we should be happy if he produces like Janulis is a bit over the top. If you want to say Janulis is a better shooter and Cooney should strive to be as good as he was, fine. I can buy that. Cooney is a MUCH better player in all other facets of the game IMO. Even shooting I think his ceiling is much great than Janulis.
