If this screws up when I hit, post thread and the numbers go everywhere, apologies! If OK cool!

Well, Allen is considered the top QB pick in this year’s NFL draft.

Dungey’s numbers are very good through three years. Wonder whether this reckless, wonderful, injury plagued athletes play will turn NFL scouts and teams off? If he can stay healthy and have another excellent year perhaps they’ll take a look.

He’ll need to play like Mariotta to get drafted.

I love Dungey. But I think we should enjoy him as an electrifying college player.

There is nothing about Dungey”s game that says

Dungey is a very good college athlete piling up stats in a system that generates numbers

I just want to commend you on your thoughtful and descriptive thread title.

Josh Allen was hyped beyond belief and failed to deliver. That's on him *and* the media.

Dungey is not a guy currently in the "draftable" category. But it doesn't mean he can't be. The idea that these systems hurt your draft stock is losing it's power. If he puts up the numbers he should, he'll be in camp somewhere and have a shot. His measurables are good, character and leadership high. We'll see.

He was pretty darn good under Lester, too.

From a numbers standpoint? Not really. 162 yds passing per game, 44 rushing.

The last two years, 330 yds total offense per game in 2016, 343 in 2017

Jimmy Gallopagos was a system product, from the same system in fact, and he seems to be thought well of.

So?
So, Babers coached him in college and now he is an NFL QB. And now he is coaching ED, it would have to be a plus in the way he is viewed.

Dungey is going to be judged on his skill set and what he puts on tape. That's it.

Guys get drafted for many reasons not directly tied to their skill set. Some really big time skill set guys are a complete bust, see Ryan Leaf. Why would it be a bad thing if NFL people said hey , Dino Babers really knows how to develop young QB talent to a very high level?

Stats aren't a cornerstone metric when it comes to translatable success in the NFL. Of the top 30 passing yardage QB's in NCAA history, only Philip Rivers has sustained a starting position in the NFL. Of the remaining 29, Case Keenum and Jared Goff have a shot to be great NFL QB's, but they still have lots of work to do. There are a few other QB's on that list that have sustained career backup roles, but nothing to write home about from any of them.

Not all draft room philosophies are the same nor player assessments. All it takes is one coach or personel guy to like you enough. Also there is allot that can happen between now and his draft day. A healthy, winning season. A bowl game...a senior bowl invite...a nice performance and good interview...I am not saying he is going nfl but i am not saying he isnt either. Lets wait and see once the dust settles...Go Cuse

If he puts up his usual numbers over an entire, healthy season, i fully expect he will have a shot at making an nfl roster. If he misses meaningful playing time next year, I don't see a team taking a chance on him.

dollarbill44 - Thank you for understanding the point of my post.

Yes, that's my reaction as well.

The real story of Eric Dungey is his talent, his grit and his intelligence. He is a great college football player, regardless of the system.

With improved arm strength, some additional size and some prolonged health, I think he can make it to the next level.

If Ryan Nassib could play in the NFL I think Eric Dungey has a chance to do so

I didn't day anything about numbers, rather he showed he was a good QB before Babers system.

That’s an incredible factoid. Difficult to imagine.

This sums it up perfectly.
