Yup! Pick and roll with those 2 are deadly.
Jesse and Symir are smart enough to where if the pick and roll is there or some one slides over for help. Symir will hit and open Girard who will be playing off the ball or an open Swider or hopefully an improved slashing Benny.

and because of that, we over react when we see one play well. We did it last year and we will do it now with Symir. Other schools see this or better, every game every year.

Not convinced he can be effective as a full-time starter once the scouting report says to sag off him.

Duke did exactly that. Then he drove and did good things.

Cole improved on D and if he's back, you know he'll put in the work to get even better. He just needs to study his film for positioning. With Buddy and Jimmy going, Joe would be the only weak defender assuming someone steps up at the other position. The zone can cover for one weak defender, just not 4 like we had this year.

Agree we need to add more through the portal if it's not Mintz.

But we now know that Symir consistently can drive and dish against top competition.
His play didn't look like a one-off.
If we've got 3-point shooters that's a big part of the game.

Dead on, balls accurate. Sy was tremendous yesterday. I think he will be most effective with 3 shooters, like we had, where we can spread the defense out and open up the half court. If Joe is our only shooter next year, I think we're going to struggle no matter who is at PG. But, I was really impressed with Sy's quickness, ball handling and decision making. I also liked that he rushed the ball upcourt a lot giving the offense more time to operate.

Would not be surprised if Frank checked out his options on the portal. Doubt he's satisfied with backing up Jesse for 10 mpg after playing so much after Jesse went down. Hope he stays.

I wanted Sy to take it to the rack basically each possession starting around the 2:30 mark. They couldn't stop him 1 on 1 and was really strong at the hoop yesterday.
