NC St chalks up a loss at home against their first P5 opponent. So much for 4-0 with wins over a FCS team. 2 Sun Belt teams, and a CUSA team. Can't wait until we play them.

Some of their fans had them winning the Atlantic. Most had them as one of the top 2-3 teams in the conference. Their fan base is delusional.

Spot on about their fan base being delusional. Still can't understand why so many here think they have really turned the corner.

Ok, just to play Devil's advocate. Watching on TV, NC State looked like a SEC team; big, fast, and pumped...
They had a strip/fumble on a long td reception at their 5yd line that was kinda flooky, and UL's qb is a serious, serious athlete. He will be a handful to contain for us as well...

No they didn't.

This is what they always do. They play four weak opponents, beat up on Wake and they pray they squeeze out one more win so they can make a bowl.

NC State looked like an SEC team that would go winless in conference play.

Were the red uniforms messing with your vision? They didn't look like an SEC team anymore than UL did.

I agree about the epically weak schedule; but just because you schedule like that doesn't necessarily make you a bad team. They played Louisville pretty even in soggy conditions without their best player who was kicked off the team 48hrs ago... Now, you can say Louisville is bad too, but I think both teams can give us fits because of their dual threat qbs and overall team speed. I want NC State and McF'it to suck as much as the next guy, but I just don't think it's the case...

Not sure anyone is saying they suck.. What they are saying is that they aren't that great. They received votes in the poll last week which is complete jokes IMO.

Why is some of our fanbase reaching to find the next Rutgers?

I used to believe the same about the Wolfpack fanbase. Then I moved here and actually met them.

Real fans =\= internet fans

Looking at your avatar while you defend NC State fans is blowing my mind.

Understand that. Yet the real, mature fans are grounded. And as far as I know, publicly or privately, not ignorant and racist.

Completely biased here as a current grad school student. So yes, that obviously influences my view. But after 25 years in CNY and knowing how the Rutgers fanbase is... doesn't seem fair now that I have established myself within the culture here. I've had UNC trash try to fight me at hoops and lax games. For a LGO chant? Far worse in my experience.

At State games? Wearing orange. No question. But the only opposing fans to ever ply me with free alcohol. More than once. Without knowledge of my grad school status. So for that alone... :D

Should also mention, when I first moved here in '06 with venom toward the school for that very reason, it was met with denial. Truly unaware/ignorant to it.

I remember. It was a very embarrassing moment for the school (and region in my opinion, as a State school). But I won't hold actions of a few to represent the whole. There are some really great people down here that do no, in any way, represent those disturbing actions.

Some clown in orange runs their mouth at the Dome. They speak for you?

i haven't seen this much love of a conference rival since Townies love of BC

Dude. Our fanbase refers to Rutgers as SUNJ. I went to SUNY Cortland.

Now I'm at State for grad school. Our fanbase refers to NCSU as "Rutgers South."

I'm a lifelong Orange fan since I can remember first understanding sports. Come on. I have no affiliation with the dumpster fire. Stop drawing parallels with my higher education.

To quote my all-time favorite ESPN commercial:

Apparently I'll have to get a doctorate from the hill to escape this.

State fans at football much better than at basketball, when we beat them at State a few years ago by the end of the game twice as many su fans left at the end of the game
