If you have to talk about anyone least have it be someone in our own conference.

Well we were once again completely embarrassed on national TV after the community seemed to be getting excited about this program after the VT and BC wins. Losses like make it virtually impossible to sell football tickets especially in November when the hoops team has taken center stage. Hopefully Dungey and Estime can return to the field next Saturday or we can kiss a trip to a bowl game goodbye. As Babers said everyone remembers the games in November and this is not how any of us wanted this month to start.

I honestly don't understand this site's obsession with Rutgers and UConn. That's like being obsessed w/ Temple and SUNY Buffalo ... except that Tenple is apparently markedly better than UConn.

I don't frequent the football board much, but what I notice is a lot of "walk on" posters doling out wisdom and advice about how everyone should act, post, and what to expect. Give me a break.

Did you watch that game? Clemson was bigger and faster at every single position. I'd say they were an order of magnitude better than Louisville who is a Top 10 team.

And we played them with a QB in his first action of the year. This was always a throwaway game. So throw it away. This concept that we needed this game for ticket sales at the dome or any other thing is such nonsense. The program is moving in a nice upward trajectory. The dome is not going to be full overnight. And if it was, those are not fans who are going to stick.

Because Rutgers is a team in a P5 conference, along with PSU, Pitt & BC, that competes for regional recruits with us. UConn, while not P5, also competes. So when we are trying to establish ourselves in the NorthEast, it's extremely important to be better than most of these schools.

And I could see Pitt, PSU, BC, UMD (not listed), WVU (not listed), etc., but none of those schools get the coverage that UConn and RU get. Doesn't that kind of blow your argument?

I'd add that I've seen enough to know we are moving in the right direction. That alone makes the next three games (maybe four) and long offseason more fun than anytime in a very, very long time.

Yes, those two games are all that matters this November. The drubbing exposed several deficiencies we knew were there.

Most important overall -- we have the right head coach in Babers. He and his staff need to develop the underclassmen, and cap this recruiting class. Keep developing, and win with recruiting. Oh, and find the next Amba Etta-Tawo, plus more like him.
