This is the "Today in the Big East" column from the Big East's daily news release. I have copied it here verbatim. Note they begin by mentioning BE teams went 10-2 yesterday, meaning that 12 of them played. Then they report on ELEVEN of them.

"Sunday’s schedule includes only one game. USF tries to halt a two-game losing streak when it hosts Florida A&M at the University of Tampa.

"BIG EAST teams compiled a 10-2 record Saturday with many of the contests battles among local rivals. Provi- dence had to come from behind to defeat in-state op- ponent Bryant 72-61 behind Bryce Cotton’s 34 points. Georgetown jumped to a 17-0 lead over Howard before winning 62-48. DePaul outscored Chicago State 102-95 with the help of 30 points from Cleveland Melvin. Mar- quette knocked off Green Bay 79-61. Jae Crowder led five Golden Eagles in double figures with 21 points.

"At Madison Square Garden in New York, Pittsburgh’s record improved to 9-1 with a 74-68 win over Oklahoma State. Forward Nasir Robinson had 15 points and six rebounds. Louisville handled Fairleigh Dickinson 80-58. Gorgui Dieng finished with 14 points and 12 rebounds in only 22 minutes of play. West Virginia outscored Miami (Fla.) 42-29 in the second half in its 77-66 win over the Hurricanes. Seton Hall improved to 8-1 with a 68-54 de- cision over Wake Forest. Forward Herb Pope continued his impressive production with game highs of 26 points and 14 rebounds. Notre Dame defeated Dartmouth 65-47 on the strength of 22 points and nine rebounds by Jack Cooley.

"The two losses were Villanova falling at Temple 78-67 and Cincinnati losing at Xavier 76-53."

Lame Duck Team, BE Probably will hate a #1 Ranking for SU

Had to be an oversight. He mentioned Pitt and WVU (in response to lame duckness). The DA didn't write the column did he?

Tra-la!

Sent an email to the head of communications at Big East (nice guy, whom I know), pointing out their error of omission.

This is his response to me:

"Our mistake. We will correct."

It pays to speak up. Their daily summary reaches lots of media people.

They're not founders

How do you mistakenly forget to give a write up of your conferences soon to be #1 team in the country lol?
