We've been practicing for 2 weeks...right?

At this point, bowl games should be considered exhibition games. Anyone that gets upset over bowl losses now is nuts
Tell me.... why is it programs set a goal and kill themselves to at the very least make a bowl game and then couldn't care less about the game itself as you suggest ?

Because so many players don't play, like you said
You want to get invited the pro bowl but you don't care if you win the pro bowl

I have what is likely a moronic question: Can any of the practices be used AFTER the game...say, within a certain timeframe? Especially given the coaching/staff change and interference (if the NCAA cares) with final exams, I could make a (weak) case for this.
Yes. You can practice those # of days in any capacity you like.

So if a transfer is done at one school and the other school is done with finals? could they play in a bowl game?

I thought in BBALL it works so that once the first semester is over a kid can start playing so would fball work that same way since we already saw a couple years ago the 2 kids played in the bowl who didnt play all year?

I doubt it’ll ever happen for an incoming player, but back when transfers had to sit Abdul Adams played in the camping world bowl after being ineligible for the regular season

i found this on a site

There is a rule, however, against transferring and playing in a bowl for a new team. Unless a waiver is obtained (it almost never is). A player cannot play for two schools in the same season. And a bowl game counts as the same season.

CDRW is splitting reps with Davis.

That is my guess.

Why do coaches leave for other schools before their current schools’ bowl games?

It's actually not 15 practices but it still rewards you the later the bowl game is.

"NCAA rules allow bowl teams to practice or hold other athletic activities up to four hours per day or 20 hours per week between the end of the regular season and a bowl game. While coaches often refer to the "15 extra practices" that come with a bowl invitation, there is no specific limit to the number of practices a team can hold during bowl preparation."

If you don't make a bowl:

"Teams that don't reach bowl games are limited to mandatory weight training, conditioning and review of game film between the end of the regular season and Jan. 1. They get a maximum of eight hours per week for those activities, including no more than two hours per week of film viewing."
Does nothing but benefit the “haves”. Every team should be able to practice as much as any team can practice.

I would guess like everything there is some in between answer. Some could care less and some really want to play. For some of the lower level bowl games where the teams finish 6-6 or 7-5 the goal is extra practices to make players better but the games don't mean too much. If you get the practices maybe next year you can move up to a better bowl.

I think the ultimate goal for these lower level bowls is just like everything else: $$$$$$
If you get to a better game the following year: more $$$$$$

yeah I think the same. New staff wants to see if either QB can at least be a viable back up. I am sure we will see some wildcat stuff but there will be some traditional Qb type reps for these two as well.

Wonder if Davis will be moved to WR eventually? Or a Dee Brown clone.
