Like others have said, this day was not unexpected and is overdue. Hopefully some level of planning has been done with a replacement and we're ready to strike while the iron's hot and get a jump on the competition for coaches.

If we are going to wait til the end of the season and miss everything mentioned above, that will say a lot. That is a statement of intent. I realize good coaches may want/need to see out their seasons now elsewhere, but you can still make announcement and they often forgo bowls/postseason with current team to get started. Why can't we do that?

We're not a competitive program and waiting until season end would affirm that the powers that be are not ready or willing to do their part to change that.
