What does a team do in a bye week?

Seriously though, I love just turning on CFB all day and just enjoying it with no vested interest. Very relaxing and no stress.

I've always preferred to call it an off week or an idle week. "Bye" implies that the team gets to advance to the next step, like getting a bye in a tournament.

For us, it's almost the exact same, just, without a game. We rest guys who are banged up and get the 2's and 3's more reps, but, the week Sunday through Thursday is almost identical... Depending on your season maybe you give them a Friday walk-through off.

I suspect that's why SU changes uniforms every week...so they don't have to wash anything until the BYE week.

This is a huge development week for this program

Yes the bye week has rules the staff has to follow. They have no practice no team meetings no position meetings. It is a time to heal more than anything. The team will do light conditioning so they keep in shape with the s and c staff and they will do rehab for injuries with trainers. They use this week to catch up on school work. I know Shy has dinner at his coaches house one night this week and I think all the position coaches usually do this on the bye.

The staff goes out and does some recruiting. I remember when Shy was getting recruited coach bullough came out to watch a game Shy was playing in. It was odd because this is a quiet week so contact between recruit and coach is limited. But I remember just getting to wave to coach from the stands. After the game coach sent Shy some messages about how he did. Ncaa rules are weird
