How can we expect today's children to become quality productive adults in the future without getting a healthy dose of Shaggy and Scooby; Tom & Jerry; Looney Tunes and the SuperFriends?

It's a fair question, but what's really concerning is that those shows were at their most popular in the 1960s, so unfortunately we've lost several generations entirely.

Although Scoob and the gang are still going strong, just not on Saturday mornings.

Don’t forget Popeye and Mighty Mouse.

As long as we’re on the subject of cartoon like characters, how did the Colonel get such good seats to the World Series??

$10 says he’s licking his fingers during the 7th inning stretch.

I’d put the 70’s up against any decade for Saturday morning cartoon popularity.

It's funny -- had a conversation with my two youngest children [ages 11 and 9] about how when I was growing up, cartoons were pretty much only available on Saturday mornings. Difficult for them to relate to.

Wacky Races
Rocky and Bullwinkle
Mr. Magoo
Jonny Quest
Popeye
Magilla Gorilla
Adam Ant
Underdog
Bugs and Friends
Jetsons
Flintstones
Davey and Goliath (On Sundays)

I was pretty content as a kid. There might have been a couple more I'm missing. Like Mickey and Donald.
