When people whine about 'negative posts,' i wonder what it is they want/expect to see in a forum. Only Glass Half Full mantra chants, and recaps of previous seasons' accomplishments? How would that be a realistic reflection of the state of affairs? Since none of those people are (100%) idiots, they Shirley must allow that there's going to be some manner of non-butterflies and rainbows commentary, so really, the silliness is that they believe they should be the arbiter of just how much 'negativity' is appropriate. We had a game against a nobody, where we played very, very well, and did some things i haven't seen in too long. Really quick and effective ball-movement. That was fantastic to watch. And if there isn't a lot of hoopla about that, it's because it was against a nobody, and we've seen us dominate nobodies this year, and then not have that 'translate' to decent opponents. So, yeah, if there's silence, or a lack of fanboy-ish praise, it's prolly because the praisers got stung when they said we were Amazing after similar wins, and before we got smacked back to reality by not-so-nobodies. People are probably gun shy about being optimistic now. Read SonsOfSamHorn. The Red Sox forum. Incredibly insightful and intelligent discourse that often jumps into very wicked/aggressive banter. After the Sox traded for one of the best pitchers in baseball, half the forum was over the moon. Another contingent was apoplectic, because of the cost in prospects to get him. Both sides are right, and both sides are wrong, and that will continue to be the case until all the players have exhausted their careers and even then, there will probably be no consensus on whether it was a good trade or not. That's balanced and objective: realizing there are multiple points of view on everything and not expecting everyone to agree. It would be mindnumbingly dull and moronic if everyone here were skipping around singing anthems to JB and the players despite what we see on the court.
