What I Would Like to See vs Colgate

I want to see 3 QBs. Angeli for 1st half. Collins for most of second half. Someone else get snaps at the end of the 4th. You never know when we will need QB3 to play for a series. Best to see some live game action.

If we need to use Angeli the whole game, we can expect this year to be like 2011 or 2014. Don't worry about bowl projections, it aint happening.

Here's the baseline based on the last 8 FCS games.

James is not the guy to use. He can only run in a straight line. If he had football skills he would've been a 5-star with that speed. Maybe try him on a wheel route or something, that's about all you can do.
You been to practice?

strange spread. We have been 24-40 pt fav the last three times we played them. Would we really be 5 pt fav vs Vill when we were 7-10 pt fav vs Uconn?
Can I get in on the bnoro car payment fund?

That spread is a scary warning sign. Big flashing neon red lights.
Where you see that?

Yeah, the site I pulled it from was misleading. Definitely didn’t make any sense but as they say…. Vegas knows.

I expect at least 3 scores.

True, we will not learn a great deal playing an opponent like Colgate. That being said, I would like to see:
1. A focused, sharp team. No stupid penalties.
2. Domination by both OL and DL.
3. A more creative running game. For example, we have James, an extremely fast RB returning kick-offs. He's not going to get a chance to return kick-offs because top level teams will kick it through the end zone. Develop some plays for him as an RB to use that 4.2 speed.
Good list.
I do not understand not getting James involved in the offense some way. Not saying he needs 20 touches a game but use him on sweeps or get him in space with short passes and let him use his speed.
With the porous nature of the Oline maybe we go with a rb and valleri as a fb/hb option. Assist with pass protection, run blocker, runner and could go out for passes like a traditional te. He has been great at catching the ball but he is versatile and we need to maximize his abilities and protect the qb and help in the run game.

Malachi James I Evaluated him along with every other recruit. At Burlington HS in NJ he was used both ways O & D. He has excellent speed at a 4.2 + and played on D @ CB. He also was used at WR as well as RB and as a KOR. He was very good at all positions in NJ. Has excellent hands and they used him at WR a lot. Google him and watch his film.

I think we are wasting his time and ours having him standing in the EZ watching the ball kicked over his head. He could, because of his excellent hands, be used in the slot effectively. He is across the LOS at both the RB and WR positions in a sec. No one can catch him and he runs great routes. He was, if you look at his HS film, used in many wheel routes from both sides of the field. But, that is not all he can do. I hope they are planning on using him sooner than later.

I suppose having him close to the EZ has an effect on the kicker and other team ST in that you'd better kick it over his head or risk the possibility of a big return - no one is going to catch him once he gets going and I disagree with Franco Pizza in that Malachi can run in more than a straight line. He has many attributes, and I hope they get, and we get to see them. Do not want to see him transfer because of lack of playing time.

Good thoughts. Get James the ball in space.

We are actually the least penalized team in the ACC so keep that up.

I want to see PRESS COVERAGE. At some point we have to stop 10 yard cushions. This is the only chance to really work on it with little to lose.

I really hope Nixon is thinking like this.
