he's not getting any offensive coordinator job next year if he's fired. the only chance he has is to hope he's not let go

if he were available, would the job still be lester's?

i vote for option c here but whatever

Only if he bring Zach Allen with him.

this is a fair question. no offense to lester, but i would take hackett back. i think his k-gun offense is a perfect fit for syracuse.

I couldn't care less about keeping things in the "family." Get the best OC you can, whether he has past ties to the program or not. Period.

i'm feeling like lloyd bentsen here. i knew the k gun. the k gun was a friend of mine. and this is no k gun

i like the offense hackett is running in buffalo and ran at cuse in his last year.

the bigger question is when he's fired (which he will be) how does he get along with Shafer and Gross still. I think the move would make a ton of sense but the relationship status would be key to know.

Hackett would be the y2k version of George DeLeone...coming and going and coming and going.

honest question here.. we often say if (enter former coach here) is fired.. will he return?

Can anyone tell me the last coach who was at su.. left.. and actually came back?

i root for my ff team but i do like the bills. however, my day isnt ruined when they lose.
people who love the bills hate the offense. maybe they're all wrong

Hackett took 4 years to have a good offense. I don't want to wait another 4 years for a good offense. Hackett is a better option than Lester but he isn't part of the SS good ole boy MAC network.

The question that I don't think anyone knows the answer to is what is Hackett without Marrone?

Worth finding out?

if i were hackett, i'd want to break free at this point

Hackett wanted the HC job. He wasn't picked, so he's not coming back to work for Shafer/Gross. The choice was made and like Marrone, that ship has sailed.

During that 2012 season, both Hackett and Shafer were talking with staff members about going with them when they had their own programs to run. I didn't get the sense from those I've spoken with, that they were considering working together at any point.

No on Hack. Lester is going to be just fine. I think that Hack will get a positions job in the NFL

they'd love it if the record was 10-0. what bills fans perspective is of the offense is irrelevant.

Hackett was Lester 3 years ago, around that time everyone was talking about how ineffective, inexperienced and over his head Hackett was, how he was only hired as a favor to his father, etc, etc.

Just cracks me up that a guy who was deemed incompetent for the very same reasons Lester is being deemed incompetent is now the ideal OC for us because he was given the time to learn, gain experience, and as a result became pretty effective before he left, in spite of all the negativity thrown at him early on.

the analogy doesnt work. lester is calling plays from someone else's offense.

And Hackett wasn't when he first got here?

lester took over midseason for a demoted oc. i agree its unfair to judge lester at this point, but the analogy to hackett doesn't help prove that point.

Doesn't crack me up as much as people saying we can't fire Shafer because we don't want to start over. Even though we're staring down the barrel at a 3 win season and we're about to completely change the offense (supposedly).

Yeah, I'd ...hate... to... have... to... start... ov I can't even finish it. At least we still have Bullough.
