Good point. People keep talking about the promising young players we have as a reason to keep Shafer as if no one else is doing any recruiting and player development. In the end, the good players will be playing other good players in conference games. Even if we even the talent level some, we're still held back by bonehead coaching. So what's the difference?

Hick's is so far behing the curve today and don't even try to tell me a guy who won the S&C award in the ACC once in 14 seasons when there was only 8 teams as being special. With our piss poor athletic budget for salaries why hasn't another P-5 team offer more than we can and why did Marrone take Luther to Buffalo instead of a man who really has no nutritional approach to the training.

Hick's is the only common denominator we have since 2000. He is nothing special.....just own up to it.

Exactly! The biggest separation I see is how those young men are so much more physically developed coming in. Where our guys may get to that level by their junior/senior years, they're already there as freshman and or sophs. So we are always behind...and the beat go's on...

oh...I forgot they are year round neighbors(sarcasm) and besides what do the pro's know over Hick's.

Kid's just out of high school shouldn't be jacking up 3-4 year players here under Hick's program. A few maybe and yes it does happen,but even USF jacked us up and that tells me high school programs in Florida has passed us in the weight room.

Agree. I'm not an expert in strength and conditioning, but I've been around it long enough, read enough and done enough to know when I see poor strength training - half squats, poor cleans, speed dumbbell presses won't get you where you need to be in terms of strength. there's more I see in those videos that I shake my head at, but you get the picture. Wonder when the last time Hicks picked up a book on current strength training techniques.

True, but so has Pitt & L'ville. BC and VPI several years earlier. All of whom, when in the BE, we competed with and had some success with. Other than Clemson, FSU & Miami (I know Miami's down now) I don't think most of our fan base would consider NCSU, UNC, UVA, Duke, Wake & GT being anything other than peer schools...with expectations to not only compete with, but to also beat on occasion.

Comparing our recruits to FSU will always look this way. We'll always be developing talent vs plug and play guys.

All that being said, Dungey, Strickland, and Clark are all pretty far a long physically.

Clark gave some of those guys some trouble today.
