What people calling for Carney are really saying

These are the same people who were screaming for Collins in the UCONN game. Let the coaches coach. They know a lot more about their personnel than fans.
No. We’re not.

But congrats on another Ill informed hot take.

Steve had a slow start but he was on the books playing in real game situations (and important ones) and doing fairly well at Notre Dame. Giving him time to get things together here especially with how late he transferred in was warranted.

Literally none of that applies to Rickie, and Rickie’s starts have made Steve look like Joe Montana in the 2 where he struggled some.

What's a coffin throw?
When you either overthrow or take too long to throw or throw too slow, putting a receiver in a dangerous position over the middle, and giving the D too much time to react, leading to big hits on prone receivers & injuries

thank you for putting into way too many words all the things none of us were thinking

Everyone said Justin Lamson was good and he transferred to Stanford and he started one game then transferred to Montana State. You just never know.

Agree. Fans it’s just speculation. However we have seen Ricky and he is not doing good so far. Fans just want to win and hope maybe someone else can be effective to win games.

1) When people say that it can’t get any worse… nonsense, it can ALWAYS get worse. It’s entirely possible that Carney is completely incapable of running an offense against a P4 defense.

2) When people say that if you bench Collins then you can’t bring him back to play… nonsense, this sort of thing happens all the time. Sometimes it’s actually helpful for a guy to sit and watch and relax. That approach worked with Troy Nunes.

3) I’m really not sure it matters all that much in the grand scheme of this season. We likely have 2 winnable games left on the schedule, and we’ll win them with defense and a running game regardless of who’s under center.

Funny you should mention Nunes. I kept thinking that if we play Carney, it will feel like Nunes vs RJ all over again. The quicker smaller guy with the weaker arm** vs the slower bigger guy with the stronger arm.

** I don't know anything about Carney's arm strength yet.
