Thinking about returnees for next year got me thinking about who could get poached. Orande would be the main target of other schools? Wax if he returns?

Wax and Carter shouldn’t be going anywhere.

My personal belief is Oronde isn’t either.

So I’ll say Allen, Lamson, Mahar and Hatcher I guess

Everyone on the defense is getting a lot of run so it's hard to say who but some players might want to play for winning teams that have holes. If Geer could transfer into South Carolina why wouldn't he? Wax is good enough to start on every team in the top 20.

JaHad Carter, Sparrow......

I think everyone is in play.

Geer’s another name but Sparrows positioning to take over for Jones.

Lowery and Linton could each be names though.

Obviously pure speculation

If players are producing here and looked upon favorably I don't see why they would want to go elsewhere. Stick with the system and everything you know that you are getting run in already. Why change it up for the unknown. You have a much better idea what you will be doing here than whatever another coach tells them to get them into their program.

I mean if a player is producing and doing well here and they then leave for another program, If I was an NFL scout I'd take that as a negative that he'll probably leave my team when his contract is up for some other opportunity.

I don’t think anyone worth going to will go after lamson considering his injury

Don’t Lamson, Allen and Hatcher have legit shots to start here next year? That would be disappointing.

If a player wanted to leave to a specific team how would that work? They would reach out to the coach of that team? After the season I would guess?

Is that who you think could leave or who you think other teams would want?

Worked fine for Kenneth Walker. I doubt NFL guys see it at all like you.

I think Gadsden would be the most desired. If he's not a true #1, he's at the very least a great #2.

Would guess Duce. Plug and play CB that can cover and make tackles is a huge get.

That’s what we think as fans but not what the NFL thinks. Just like we like to think players will come here for playing time and a guaranteed spot instead of going to a factory school. But they don’t.

I don't like this thread either, but I'll say Duce or Wax. Two very proven commodities playing at a high level. That said, I'm sure there are literally hundreds of other guys across the country that teams fear they may lose. Just because you play (and in some cases star, at Syracuse) doesn't mean you'll end up in the same circumstance on a top 10 or 20 team. And if you are "the man" here, I think the likelihood of going somewhere else, starting over, new teammates, coaches etc. is a lot less appealing than if you're buried on the depth chart looking for a fresh start. I actually think this should work in our favor with the big boys having players 2nd, 3rd or even 4th on the depth chart that may be as good as our 1's or 2's.

We're not letting anyone leave who we want to keep.
