What was the worst game ever played at the Dome?

If the BC game where Michael Adams was (allegedly) fouled 35 feet from the basket with one tick left - then yeah that one.

I didn't attend it, but I'd have to say 1986 Navy would have to be very high since it was an NCAA tournament game. 2008 Pitt is the most soul-crushed I've ever been walking out of the Dome, personally.

Without a doubt that Navy game was the most crushing.

I could be wrong, but I think that game was in Boston.

That game was completely my fault. We were up 9, and then I showed up.

Was the DePaul loss at home??

Navy '86 game was horrible and I remember we didn't get a call all game. Navy shot like a record number of free throws to win that game. What's worse is that we beat them handily earlier in the year.

That same year we played Notre Dame and got hosed by the refs, losing and then Digger dancing. My son was keeping statistics during the game and everyone around us was asking him how many fouls against us now? I think ND had around 40-50 foul shots. Bad memories. It was the year that Seikaly kept asking why the refs didn't like him :).

Losing the Cleveland St game in 2008 with a last second heave was tough too. Thanks to Joyce I had a very close view of that - shudder.

Without a doubt that 08' Pitt game. First dome game I have ever been to... Up 12 with 2 mins to go and just a royal choke job. I was so pissed off the rest of the trip. Win that game and they're in, lose and they're out and they blew it

Yeah, Cherie, and you probably could have stuck out your foot and tripped the shooter before he got off his shot.

No, fortunately that debacle was at DePaul.

The Georgetown game in 2013 was pretty depressing, but can't imagine how there wasn't a mass suicide in Syracuse the night of the Navy game.

Navy was the worst for me as it's one of a select few where I was actually there. My brother got tickets through where he worked and we had good seats for a sad game.

I thought digger dancing was the Elmer Bennett shot? That wasn't 86 I don't think. Maybe 90 or so.

It was LaPhonso Ellis that hit the shot that sent Digger dancing.

The worst game that I attended was against Miami in 2000-01. Miami was not all that good and didn't even play well. But for us, Shumpert was 3-19 and Deshaun was 4-18. I kept thinking at least one of them would start making some shots and we would make a run and win, but it never happened. Just "clang" all game long. Crowd never had a chance to get going, no run, no fun, no excitement. Very hard watch.

Of course, 68-57 games where nobody can make an outside shot to save their lives are very common now. But back then it was a shocking eyesore when it happened. In terms of "tough losses" that one doesn't rank. It wasn't a big deal. But in terms of entertainment value, and being able to get into the game and have anything at all to get excited about...that one was brutal.

The highlight of the game was some middle aged Miami fan, sitting a section away from the student section, who late in the game started really celebrating hard and drawing attention to himself, and was egging on the crowd that had noticed and was booing him. Someone from the student section pelted him with something and was then escorted out by Dome security.

I feel like Ellis caught it in the middle of the court and passed to Bennett for the 3.

I remember watching that game as a kid. Billy Owens made a great left handed shot in the lane with a few seconds left to give us the lead and what looked like the win.

I was at that Navy game. Horrible.

Anyone thrown out those classic battles against Marathon Oil yet?
