What would SU do if NYS doesn't allow college sports.

You're probably thinking of 5th Amendment protection against self-incrimination.

They can sue, but they won't win. SCOTUS has ruled that when you fly, you are waiving a lot of rights. For example, having Customs and the TSA going through your bags without a warrant. Or, agreeing to breathalyzer or field sobriety tests as a condition to getting a driver's license. What they've announced is that getting on a plane to NY constitutes waiving your rights. Don't want to be questioned? Don't get on a plane to NY.
4th amendment.
Unlawful search and seizures are protected by this amendment.
Forcing people off an airplane or driving into your state from certain states with out of state plates to be subject to stops is a violation of the 4th amendment.

Not when you announce it in advance and not when other options are available. That's the basis of the SCOTUS decisions. You don't want your bags checked? Don't fly. It's just as easy to avoid these checks, don't enter NY. Use ZOOM. Use Go to Meeting. Use Face Time.
.
What are they searching? What are they seizing?

They have announced in advance that entering NY constitutes a waiver of your rights. You don't want to waive your rights? Don't enter NY from one of the states on their list (which has also been announced in advance).

I would love to see these arguments in court.
Your opinion is a valid legal argument Cuomo’s side would argue but we don’t know which the court would agree with.

The health damage done from Covid-19 is unknown.
Even if you get it and overcome it doesn’t mean it’s worth the risk. Heart damage done from getting is real and we won’t know till the future how it impacts a person’s long term health.

College football this fall isn’t going to end up happening. Pro football will try to and get thru it but it’s going to tough for them. They just make a lot of revenue that it’s going happen.
Thank you so much for this post. I was about to write something just like it. We have no idea what the long term damage of this virus might be. Maybe it won't be anything. But maybe it will be something serious. We just don't know yet.

Maybe the basketball team can set up shop just across the border like the fireworks stores. They can do online classes and travel wherever they want.

Doesn't matter where they set up...they're still home games. Don't you listen to the pundits?

The Onondaga and Oneida Indians have sovereign nations near by.

How hard can it be to build a football field?

Exactly. We can play our home games wherever we want. We are finally in a situation where that's perfect.

So Cuomo is going to have cops at every airport and have the passenger show their papers?

Teams fly into NY they don’t drive. If Cuomo would waste state resources to keep these athletes out that is a lawsuit waiting to happen.
Already happening , Let's see how good that SU Law School really is.. Hmm! Do they teach Constitutional Law there (Original Intent) ?

Except if they were to go that way aren't they then covered to the 14 day self quarantine rules every time they come back from the reservation.

The anecdotal evidence thus far suggests the damage could be to a wide range of organs, and obviously no one at this point knows the time frames under which the damage will ultimately manifest itself. As devasting as this virus has been to date, I think one day we will look back and be appalled at its ultimate toll and this country's collective half-assed response when we first encountered it.

In order to ease your mind, I will remind you that this virus is just going to disappear one day. Like a miracle.

I wasn't really serious, but the idea is that they wouldn't go back during the season, hence the online classes.
