Whatever happened to the Dome's "Dancing Usher"

Was in New Orleans for a conference this weekend and my brother and I went to the Sunday night game in the Superdome (not a bad seat, like our dome). Ushers interacted and had a great time with the fans. The atmosphere was the opposite of what the dome has been like for football for the last 10-15 years and created an incredible home field advantage (fans on their feet for first down, etc). The only time I have experienced anything similar in our dome for football was McNabb's last game. It think our AD could learn a lot by going to a game there

Are the people that run the Dome separate from the AD's office?

It boggles my mind how the university could be so disconnected on fan experience. We talked about tailgating earlier this year and how to get the casual fan to come. I would think they would want the same ushers in the same spot developing relationships with season ticket holders. It goes back to that Cheers thing where everybody knows your name. Hell even the NFL does a whole commercial about it where the guys name is on everything in the stadium. We are in a new conference with a new HC that seems like a great fit. The university needs to not let these opportunities to get new fans and keep old fans go

Everybody loved the segment where the camera's caught the usher in the third level of the Dome putting on some dance moves. Perhaps if they tagged it, The Dancing Usher, provided to you by CJ Cookies or some such advertisement they could bring it back. After all it's probably about the money.

Detroit's Dancing Usher

Footnote:

Our usher was told to stop doing his dance, that's a fact Jack!

Would it have anything to do with heightened security due to the recent midnight madness gang related event?

If not then it reflects upon SUAD view of the Dome experience - we are there to watch a game, not to have fun.
