He is clearly a great runner. Not fast, but smart and elusive and, when he wants to be, tough to bring down. A real asset in the red zone.

According to Lester his his decision making has been very good. He has only has one int and that was because he did not get the entire play call before turning back to the LOS.

His passing has been erratic. That may be charitable or not. Receivers have dropped far too many very catchable balls. Today, three were the result of not watching the ball into their hands and turning to run prematurely. However, far too many passes to wide open receivers have been overthrown or thrown behind. He hit a couple of nice long throws, which is encouraging.

I would probably give him a B or B- for all three (2.5) games.

My mother taught me if I don't have something nice to say not to say anything at all.

i like the fact that he slides .can't read coverage .s. but does possess that important self preservation instinct.

He needs to attend the Manning passing camp again next summer.

We go wildcat all game with a runner who sometimes passes.

He will have a series here and there where he looks like Marcus Mariota but then reverts back to Tyler Murphy.

what exactly did he do on the INT? 3 guys were open on that play. too bad one was a maryland guy and he didnt drop it like ours did.

I keep wondering if he or Perry Patterson throws the faster high heat.

We should be running more zone read or option with the combination of Hunt's running and the OL's strength. I don't think the drops on the 1st drive helped at all, that was the best Hunt looked throwing the ball (had a good one to Lewis and then the slant to Broyld was on the money).

hunt misread the playcall from the sideline

That play completely changed the game. If there was one point to look to as the game changer, it's that one. For as bad as we played up to that point, the defense was settled and it would've been a single possession game.

He's much better than he was at the beginning of last year. But so far, he lacks a bit of the poise he showed in the last couple games last year. He's stronger as a runner, but a bit too emotional, like Shafer. His throws are getting better. He is growing into the role of being "the man" this year.

I don't blame the kid for running more in the second half without Ashton Broyld out there to throw it to.

He is the best we have at present, but still very much a work in progress at QB. I do not really see anyone else being a better package. Wilson better pure passer, but can not run a lick. Kimble has questionable decision making and not a real upgrade in pass or run. AJ Long is just in no way ready at this point. Last, but not least Edouard is missing from action, but may have the biggest potential if he ever reports for duty.

Yeah, whatever would we do without Broyld alligator arming passes over the middle, and not blocking?

Ashton is one of the few kids we have that would pass a look test on a SEC roster... But, I think if he wants a future in the pros, he needs to become our next Keith Bullock @ linebacker...

Pros: Solid runner - including getting a final extra yard when he's in the trenches, can make a decent amount of throws well that you want from a college qb and he wants to be a leader on the field.

Cons: Holds on to the ball too long, is never going to wow you with a pro-level throw consistently, doesn't have elite speed or acceleration for someone who runs a lot and his accuracy is questionable.

With all this said, McDonald is doing him no favors with the play calling. Our WRs are plenty to blame for the failed screens, but Hunt has trouble making that throw accurately that hits the WR in stride. It's just a bad play all around for our personnel.

Yes, that was terrible. But as someone above said about Hunt, "he's the best that we have right now" - and you have to admit, he does have big play capability.

There are dozens of dudes on campus who look athletic. I bet one of them could block better than Mr. Upstate NY.

How many big plays has he made in his overhyped career here. I'm tired of watching him not block and avoid contact.

I think Crusty pretty much nailed it.

He's also the best QB we've had since McNabb, sans Nassib's senior year (5th year senior - 4th in Marrone's offense).

Hunt is like Tebow ONLY in the sense that he has some clear strengths and limitations, so if he's your guy you build around those strengths and live with the limitations.

He's a good runner and rushes for a ton of TDs. He's not a good passer. I don't think he's a very cerebral player, IE, doesn't seem to be a whole lotta "read" in our read option, because it sure looks like the plays are predetermined. He's supposed to be a good leader, but he also did the dumbest thing on the field we've had a player do in years.

I'm a little worried. He's not getting a ton of help from his WRs because they drop a lot of decent passes, but he hangs his guys out to dry an awful lot too. I think some of what he is makes the game a bit too difficult.

Hunt is fine. He has a lot of playmaking ability, as both a runner and a passer.

Our WR corps, in a word, sucks. Not only do they lack playmaking ability, but most of them are poor fits for our system. A bunch of guys, none of whom can be "THE guy."

In no way am I suggesting that Hunt is perfect or elite. But he's good enough for this team to win 8-9 games. We need to upgrade his weapons.

Hunt is not the main issue.

I'm sick of bubble screens. Let's run screens that actually get playmakers in space.

If anyone has ever watched Denver, they throw screens to Demaryious Thomas where he fakes up field, and then comes back to the ball while blockers run ahead of him. I have nothing wrong with that now and again. Our silly quick throws are just a wasted down, imo. If you're gonna do that, just run the ball.

when was this big play you speak of?
