What's a fair evaluation of Hunt so far?

I'm sick of bubble screens. Let's run screens that actually get playmakers in space.

If anyone has ever watched Denver, they throw screens to Demaryious Thomas where he fakes up field, and then comes back to the ball while blockers run ahead of him. I have nothing wrong with that now and again. Our silly quick throws are just a wasted down, imo. If you're gonna do that, just run the ball.

Or if we run screens, why can't we get our WRs to block effectively, like every other !$#%#$ college football team can. Watch any football game, and see how teams block on those plays. We are the only team I've watched that can't block guys to pop those plays for bigger gains. Which is frustrating as hell, given that it is a staple in our playbook.

Hunt struggled and lost his confidence with his throws. The receivers did little to help and Hunt ran far too often. A bad combo.

I think he'll have a fine year overall and once he gets comfortable with the younger WR's/TE's the better. He can make some throws and struggles in others. Not happy with his field vision yet.

I don't have a big problem with hunt. My only suggestion would be to lead the receivers a bit more and throw to where they are going to be rather than making them slow down or worse yet throwing it behind them.

That's it, otherwise he's very serviceable for us and we can win games with him. Not going to nfl but I don't care about that

The problem we face is that Hunt is a mediocre qb with no better alternatives behind him. Yes he can run a little bit- although I'm still surprised how slow he is but he can move the chains with his legs- which is good because he literally can't threaten a defense with his arm. Combined with our dink and dunk passing game that does not force opposing defenses to cover the entire field, with todays selection of Hunt's mental mistakes- "misreading" plays from the sideline, sliding two yards short of a first down on a key scramble late in the third, drawing a face mask penalty negating another first down on another critical drive- then you get what we saw today-you drop a critical home game against a mediocre opponent that we dominated on the stat sheet and should have won. We'll be lucky to get to 6 wins again this year.

Of the areas that I see as being in need of upgrades, Hunt is not in the top three, which for me are (1) We really need a stronger and faster secondary that can cover the receivers and give strong run support. The ability to come off WR blocks would also be nice. (2) We need receivers that can run good routes, get separation and go get the ball. We have decent receivers in Broyld, Estime, Lewis and I was happy to see West get his, but there isn't consistency - we need a stud receiver that can go and get the ball when its thrown to him. I think we see this improvement with the new recruits. (3) We need something to happen on special teams - we get just about zero contribution from our special teams play, and in fact, special teams play has often put us in poor position.

Hunt hit his throws early but our receivers dropped very catchable balls. Then Hunt had some really poor throws. But he manages the game well and the team moves down the field until McD starts his Redzone Offense. I don't think Hunt is the largest concern on this team.

Hunt is a solid running QB who is inconsistent with his throwing; often because his footwork breaks down. When you combine that with poor play calling and WR's who can't hold on to the ball you have disaster; you have yesterdays game.
