I would think that developing Devito is the most important task for the team, far beyond anything else. If Dungey goes down and we don’t progress beyond another 4-8 season we’re in a bind program-wise.If developing Tommy DeVito were the main objective, then he went into the game too early against WMU and too late against Wagner. But, it sounds like there are other objectives just as important - like protecting Dungey and developing wide receivers.
Is he with the rest of the first team? Saturday, with divided attention, I saw him go in and snaps started sailing over his head. Did they substitute the entire offense? If so, why the heck don’t they let him run the first team?

Let me add the qualifier that should have been there. Most important developmental task. Most important? More than winning? I’m confused.
Didn't Babers say that the Wagner game was the best game we've played, overall, in all phases, since he's been here?Having a quality backup is huge and almost essential these days but win more than four games we have a lot of bigger fish to fry, IMO. I would have thought the third quarter belonged to DeVito last weekend, but there are so many areas we need work in that I'm not sure the devito discussion is the most important thing on our plate.
I think the second team center entered the game with Tommy.

Where I see holes right now, I see inexperienced guys who will grow into the roles. QB is such a different beast, though. Some guys will "get it" and some won't, no matter how much time you give them. In general I would say that if I were a coach, I would be most concerned about having QB's 1 and 1a, in the college game. Given our history with Dungey, though, it takes on extra significance. You have to plan for the late season games when he is likely not to be available. All that other stuff, other positions, etc, are meaningless if we have to run out a guy who isn't as ready as The Sheriff was last year.

And double digit win predictions. Man... cocaine’s a hell of a drug.It blows my mind to think that there were people calling for Devito over Dungey, and now Dungey is getting Heisman votes.

Is this Chukwu? He's not wearing goggles. I don't remember Chewie not wearing goggles except for the first few games of his Cuse career before he got hit in the eye.
