When do sanctions end?

I believe it was 3 years probation so that would be over.
Recruiting restrictions on the staff ended just recently.
We have a 11 scholarship restriction this season 2017.
We have a 12 scholarship restriction next season 2018.

BTW Buddy Boeheim is a D1 level player that we will not have to use a scholarship on. He is in the 2018 class so that would effectively end the sanctions a year early and give us an extra player if needed the following three seasons.

So we'll be at full strength in 2019-2020 (albeit a bit young)?

And we will be completely normal around 2021-2022ish, plus or minus a year?

We have plenty of talent this year but are very young. Next year with Buddy we can have 13 D1 players like everyone else can and there are no more restrictions of any kind. I am not sure where you are getting the 21-22 seasons from. The scholarship limit is 13 for everyone.

I believe, after appeal, it was 5 years probation. 4 years for scholarship reductions (2 per year). Recruiting restrictions for 2 years. [By Edit] What's confusing is why there is only one reduction (12 schollie limit) in 2018. If memory serves, the NCAA appeal came down in November (2015) and SU wound up getting credit for 3 scholarship reductions they had already enforced (in 2015) after the original decision. So that left 5 reductions to take during the next 3 years, leaving us with 11 in 2016, 11 in 2017 and 12 in 2018.

On the Buddy issue, are you saying that because Dad will pay for school, or because he's the son of a University employee and they may get free tuition that way?

I wonder if the NCAA has a rule for this situation? Isn't the first time it's happened.

Just curiosity more than anything else here.

Kids have played for there dad's before without a ship. Alfred is doing it now. Someone covered it pretty well in the Buddy thread. I think you can get away with it because of the father working for the university angle.

correct, Buddy can walk on and not use up a scholorship and his tuition/room and board are free because JB works for the university. Something tells me JB could afford to pay Buddy's way if need be of course ;)
