College basketball refs are worse than Keystone cops. We could have lost this game without that crap flagarant upgrade but it totally ended the chance for us to win. Which is such a joke for refs to mess up. There will be no real consequences for these guys making crap calls. The ACC won’t get rid of them.

Refs should go unnoticed but in college basketball they don’t. Also what a toolbag Hubert Davis is for even asking for that play to be reviewed. How that was called a flagarant but the VIrginia Tech player punching the Duke player wasn’t just shows how bad college basketball refs truly are.

The phantom call on Jessie when Jesse let the kid lay it in, was ridiculous. The ref under the basket is standing there watching it and the ref out by half court in front of Hubert Davis makes the call.

Plus against NCSt, Leaky Black was called for a flagrant 2 and ejected for making a basketball play that was inadvertent (smack to the face) but dangerous that caused NCSt’s Taquavian Smith to lose his balance and be carried out on a stretcher. Bet Hubert Davis reminded the refs about it. I also saw Davis tell a ref that it was the 2nd time that Mintz hit a UNC player in the face as if Mintz was a serial offender.

One of the weirder things with Jesse as well is that traditionally good shot blockers, like say being top 10 in the nation, get proper respect. He still doesn't which is BS. They still call the foul in anticipation and often it's the offensive player throwing themselves into his mid section while he is vertical.

On the other end, because he does have such a high release using his size properly, vs putting his shoulder into the defender, he is often fouled on the body but they aren't even paying attention instead looking at the shoulder level and above. With the veteran refs we see this should never be the case. They are missing text book calls with Jesse as though they haven't watched a 7 footer who plays above the rim almost exclusively.

Same here, thought it was a theatrical play at best. Then I remembered that it might have been the first drawn charge of Edwards’ career and on replay he clearly got smashed, nearly smacking his head on the floor when he came down. Clearly wasn’t a controlled flop.
