When Was The Last Time You Were This Excited for SU Football?

2002. ...and then BYU happened. The board was so amped that pre-season. Expectations were really high - and I was fully on the bandwagon. ("Josh Thomas is a monster!") I believe that was the beginning of the end for P, and the start of a slow slide into, at first, mediocrity, and then extreme awfulness.

Every year I am excited and this year is no different, but the flavor of optimism has changed from blind hope - to rational expectation.

So much rides on Hunt, frankly.

I agree that Hunt is at the center of the picture, along with his receivers. SU has the experience on the offensive line, good selection of running backs. If they can open up a solid passing attack, open opps for the runners, this will be a good offensive team. If Hunt can take charge of these ingredients and execute on passing, this year could be a big step forward. I'm excited. Going up for the Maryland game and joining a brother and sister for the ND game in town.

I remember completely losing my s--t when Lenny Cusumano dropped a TD pass in the endzone on 4th and goal in the first half that literally the average old lady would have handled without a problem.
