I as im sure many of our posters played HS football. Some college and im sure a couple pro. I was a back up QB starting LB and i dreaded playing against smash mouth teams. Simply put it hurt.
Im encouraged that Dino has an O and D line that can lay some wood this year. Combine that with his " new fast" and depth and we might just be strong finishers this season.

One hundred percent. Quarterback for a wing-T offense, and my God some teams crushed you off the fake and others didn't. Completely changed the way we would play. Small, quick offensive line was great against small school defenses. Against the Liverpool's and Henninger's of the world I'd be black and blue for a week.

Having the big uglies in the trenches changes the game so much. It wears down teams quarter to quarter. I'd love to say that I played the same way in the 1st as I did the 4th against those big d-lines, I'd be lying. Football players don't like to admit that, but truth be told if you have big guys hammering up front for four quarters it does change the way you approach and play the game.

For sure. Couple a great Oline with our pace and we will smoke some teams

Played 3 years for Liverpool. In my sophomore year ('94-'95) we had a great JV team. Had no depth. So many kids were playing both ways all game. Only lost to one team that year ...Rome.

Our coach knew we were going to lose going in. He coached us well, but was very matter-of-fact in how he spoke to us the week leading up to the game. When we played I understood why. Never got smacked so hard in my life ...on every single down. It was another level of pain.

Delaware Wing T. I'll never forget the first time I pulled in a game only to run into a behemoth of a player from Henninger. Dude was a freaking wall. Luckily Drummond was a much better running back than I was a guard!

I once played touch football against some kids in the neighborhood. The bigger kids were tough to play against, and one time I got completely laid out on a block. In my defense, she was a lot bigger than me.

I was a running back/corner for Adirondack when they jumped from C to B from 94-97. I always thought I was fast. Then I ran the 400 in track against a kid named Cordell Mitchell and found out I wasn't actually fast.

I once played Joe Montana football on the Genesis and made the mistake of playing against the 49ers instead of as the 49ers, and when it was over my thumbs were really sore.

I still have coullouses in my thumbs in the shape of a "+" from all the Tecmo/Super Tecmo/Madden/Montana games.
My callouses are John Harbaugh approved.

No shame there. Not many teams beat RFA pre 1996. They were absolutely dominant when the base was open. I recall them being ranked in the USA today National top 25 one year.

I might be the only one; but those were my favorite games. I hated playing the teams that didn’t challenge us. Record wise we were not very good; but our teams liked to hit. Our coach let us have full contact drill before a game.
