Red will never get another head coaching job at any level. I have no idea why anyone would hire Griff or Engelstad. Straughn should land somewhere if he's the recruiter that he's been touted to be.

I remember Dean Francis predicting on his pod that Griff will end up as an assistant at LIU to Ron Strickland if Red gets fired here.

There would be a large number of people, forums, groups, media outlets, fans, etc. that would explode if he got one more year (barring a massive performance change that is unseeable as of February 4th, 3:00pm EST.)

yeah I have no idea what the next 4-5 weeks looks like but I don't see any big turnaround either

LIU is a fairly recent D2 call-up. One of my former students played lax there but got "the talk" when they moved up.

It doesn't though some fans want to use a thread like this to demean the guy. Reds a good guy by all accounts. He didn't end up doing well. He didn't intentionally lose. He will likely latch on to another staff.

I’m heartbroken he isn’t going to work out here. But we need a change, I think everyone pretty much agrees no matter how sad it is to go outside the family, this seems like the best way to move

Your student must have been at CW Post. When they merged with the LIU Brooklyn Blackbirds, it became LIU Sharks but kept the NEC membership of LIU Brooklyn. It’s a sort-of call up, but not exactly.

I only know this because LIU Brooklyn used to play in a converted theatre (Brooklyn Paramount Theatre) that was a bizarre basketball arena - I went there to watch a game when I lived in NYC 30 years ago.

As for what connection Griff has…no idea.
