Imagine a poster coming on this board before that game, when we were 25-0 and #1, and saying that they are worried that we will suck for the next 11 years and UConn will become the best program in America. The mods probably would have had that poster euthanized.

Very nice research here. I was obviously wrong about the 88 Kentucky game. I could have sworn we got killed there. Just watched the last few minutes on Youtube. We had the lead most of the game and lost late. (Missed free throws etc.) Sherman got a runner up on the rim at the end that didn't fall. Maybe it was my disappointment of losing a late lead that made me think we had lost by a lot.

The only thing that makes it better is that college basketball has become a niche sport with a few local hot spots. One and done was the first knife and the portal finished it off. Remember how big senior day used to be when guys like Sherm, David Johnson, DJ Rony, etc. That era had names that will go down in history. Even the 2 and done guys like MCW, Dion combined with the seldom 1 and dones like Melo and Ennis it was still fun. Being a cbb fan has become a chore. That’s the only thing that makes it a little easier. Otherwise, the way things were handled it was like we were on the titanic with JB and we saw that iceberg miles ahead but didn’t change course and just rammed right into that SOB

True. But we went to a Final Four in 2016 and had other tourney success, and UConn sucked for five of the six years after 2014 with three bad years of Ollie and two bad years of Psycho Hurley before he finally made the tourney. We had to deal with JB hanging on for too long. The Syracuse program will eventually get turned back around and be good again. Have faith.
