Just my thought, but I think we end up in one of four places:

Dallas
Detroit
Annapolis
NYC

My preference would be in order:

Dallas - just for the kids, would be a great new years day bowl in a great city
Detroit - recruiting our new area :)
Annapolis - recruiting, great area
NYC - been there, done that too recent (recruiting)

1. NYC for bowl money, recruiting, and better exposure than the other bowls. We'll play a AQ team. But ND is going here, not us.
2. Annapolis for proximity, recruiting.
3. Dallas for easy, cheap flights for fans and that's about it. TV is ESPNU which does not reach the same amount of homes as ESPN and ESPN 2. Recruiting is not going to be helped by a win over Rice in the Heart of Dallas Bowl.
4. Detroit has easy, cheap flights too. location playing a MAC team.

I think it is one of those also except Detroit. Plus Detroit would be the worst spot. I also know beggars can't be choosers but the players don't want the Pinstripe. They were hoping last year it wouldn't be the Pinstripe. They wanted and I'm sure again this year, want something warm weather. So I'm guessing the players are hoping for Texas.

Just detailed this in another thread o ill give the cliff note version here.

Nashville.

Pitt by virtue of their W, stays closer to home.
BC gets New Years and big D
Maryland to their new home in Detroit

1. Dallas - because I can actually go to that game, and because playing in the Cotton Bowl can only give us good karma.

There's nothing warm weather about Dallas in January.

That being said great town, historic venue.

Normally true...but then again, it is 67 down here in north Texas today.

Beef O Brady is the hoped for destination.

My money is on Dallas. Nice pay out. Decent weather, great city, and a winnable game

Gee, would you like to see us play Buffalo? Because I never, ever would have been able to pick up on that by the approximately 27 posts you've made about it.
27? Try half my post count.

I'm really just joking around with all of you. Surprised how thoroughly against it the entire board is.

I'm not really going to be happy playing North Texas. I'll be happy for the additional practices, but that's about it.

Don't be selfish, cto! I haven't been able to go to a live football game since 2002...give me something here, geez!
Okay, Jekelish... Just for you... I hope we go to Dallas!

Seriously, Syracuse gets nothing from playing Buffalo. Zip. Zero. Nada. Zilch.

I know as a Buffalo fan it's hard to understand that...but that's reality. I'd wouldn't be thrilled about playing North Texas - but I'd be happier with that match-up than having to play Buffalo in a no-win bowl game.

Chill out it's a joke.

Also a bowls a bowl when you're a .500 team with a brand new coach and quarterback. Why the hell are we getting greedy, in all honesty Im only 95% sure we'll get into a bowl.

Priorities:
1. Any bowl at all, so we can extend our practices, brag to recruits, etc.
2. Somewhere we can break even or maybe end up in the black (for the IPF fund)
3. An opponent worth playing, good TV accessibility, etc.
4. A warm weather location

April is more likely to happen if we go in January. Just the way it works. The other way you may worry about going to Dallas twice, and not go at all!
