Syracuse B-Ball has a much bigger national following than Syracuse Football. It will be much easier to right the ship in hoops.Pretty easy q. Not yesterday. Not tomorrow. Right now. All things equal.
Counterpoint...Syracuse has already expressed a willingness to go outside the program to hire for football. Whether Brown works out or not, it is clear that for football, Cuse is willing to do a national search rather than just stay cheap and local. That means there will always be many more good options for football.Syracuse B-Ball has a much bigger national following than Syracuse Football. It will be much easier to right the ship in hoops.
Then vote for the one you feel slightly less euphoric about then?I don't feel bad about either program.
I don't want to feed in to this, is what I'm saying. Then vote for the one you feel slightly less euphoric about then?![]()
Why did you comment at all then? If there are threads I dont want to "feed into" i scroll on past?I don't want to feed in to this, is what I'm saying.

Because your poll didn't include an option that captured how I felt. Why did you comment at all then? If there are threads I dont want to "feed into" i scroll on past?
Well said. I think at 42 years old Fran just is living in a different world than Autry is. Not like Autry is old but he feels like a dinosaur sometimes.Except…. Not if Red isn’t the answer as HC.
And it is seeming more and more like he may not be.
In spite of how these games since Angeli got hurt vs Clemson blow donkeys,
at least Fran had that 10 win season,
AND the big road W at Clempsum as proof of concept.
AND - it seems like in spite of how the season ended, we appear to be hanging on the the majority of our top Croots.
We know Fran can recruit like nobody’s business, and he’s gonna pound the portal until it cries uncle!
Get PB Angeli back to full health, bring in another viable QB via the portal, fill in a few spots here and there and we’ll be cooking with gas once again.
Hoops - if Red doesn’t make the Big Dance this season, he needs to be shown the door.
And it’s not looking all that likely that we’re going to find enough quality W’s to get r’ done…
… so that means a total tear down and reboot.
And the results of that, especially in the near term are far too variable and unknown.
Which is why I think football is in a less-bad position than hoops right now.
Right on. This is the reality today for Syracuse athletics. I would also add that the ACC is heavily skewed towards basketball, even though the last few years have been pretty abysmal. The ACC isn't the fit that the Big East was for basketball, but it can work.Aside from coaching, basketball has major tailwinds...great history, facilities, fan support, nil support, national recognition, fertile recruiting area, biggest stadium in america, powerful ex-nba alumni and sportscaster alumni, etc. We have just had one hand tied behind our backs for a decade.
Football is all headwinds - poor recruiting area, low fan support, insufficient NIL, few traditions, higher than average academic standards, injury-prone turf stadium, poor-average facilities, hard to attract quality coaching, etc.
No brainer as far as I'm concerned.
I know you have to pick which board to post this on but unfortunately your results are gonna be skewed because the basketball only’s (yuck) on this side are going to skew heavily one way. As an “equal lover” I agree with the take that hoops is easier to become great again because a couple of studs can change a season. Football is such a monster sized operation.Pretty easy q. Not yesterday. Not tomorrow. Right now. All things equal.
If you feel good about both, send me some of what you are having and vote for the one you FEEL LESS good about
