I think this game ends within 10 points. Why? Syracuse’s defense. Coach ward dialed up great gameplans last year against LSU, Miami, and FSU. The offense lost those games.
This season, WMU worried me. That third quarter pass coverage was terrible. Cordy wasn’t himself. Cisco played like a freshman and the linebackers were block magnets. But they call it “mid-season form” for a reason.
Since then, Cisco has grown up and proven to be one of the better playmakers in the country. the linebackers are getting a better sense of their fit in this defense and the D-Line is playing with more confidence than ever. The benefits of lighter scheduling.
But Julian, they’re playing a real opponent. No way they have chance, right? Not so fast, big fella. I like this D-Line against Clemson’s front 5. They lost 2 starters from a year ago & Cuse was able to get to Kelly Bryant all game until he got hurt. Slayton ate the backup too.
So now they have a special freshman. Hair flows in the wind and legend has it, Joe Montana blessed his right arm at birth. he’s only been sacked once. National conversations around this game highlight Clemson’s D-Line but Syracuse’s made all the plays last season.
I think Trevor Lawrence is going to get hit. A lot. And the thing about paranoid quarterbacks, especially paranoid freshman quarterbacks, is they throw incompletions and picks.
Chris Fredrick is all-conference. Dr. Cordy is one of the best athletes in the ACC and Andre Cisco leads the country in INTs. If they keep everything in front of them I think Syracuse has a chance.
If Dungey and the offense show up and play a complete game, we’ve got a 4qtr football game. If not, the orange will fly out of South Carolina wondering what could’ve been.
