White Out

What idiot came up with this idea? We are the Orange not the white.
There is nothing wrong with white... we use white and or blue depending on the team colors and such at games. Although typically it is an away game color.

If they're going to do something this late they need to have free to shirts to hand out to everyone. Maybe sponsored by a local company.

Also, with the blue seats and I'm assuming the lack of attendance for this game not so sure how smart asking your fans to wear a color other than blue is.

Seems like the D is missing in the marketing department.
I sorta agree, there should have been a forwarding thinking announcement overall.

Anytime “big” programs do this, they send out a map of what color you should wear in your section. I know this is all white out. But not sure why they don’t do orange and blue and just alternate sections so it looks a lot better than some blended white shirts here and there
Because in Syracuse, every section will have a minimum of one knucklehead in a green sweater.

Is this from the non-compliant, or from your the ticket resales to the opposing team, invited relatives, or other fan invites? All of this happens, it not everyone else's fault for them. Did you do that too from them or that to it too if you did so?

How does that at all advance the topic other than to complain. It is an ask about wearing white, not about complaining about other fans during the games we have attended. Fork another thread if you are unhappy, as this is apparent for a green sweater. We can do what we can, but none of us has complained about a green sweeter, or even cared about it until now.

You have my attention know how some fan with a green sweater from a past game achieves recognition. Was it Notre Dame or some innocent person that just wanted to go to a game. Perhaps they just wanted to be there.

Ridiculous conversation now if it comes to this. The only ask was wear white as they wanted to have a white weekend. Orange is the standard. Pegging someone for some other color is a complete waste of time. We all have our own opinions, but I'm not going to blast any person in the dome for what color or team colors they wear.

Until now... How is one green person a problem?

Sorry I put my question mark on the last ask. And after that, let just go and enjoy the game as nothing will do anything about it except for those that are already attending. If it helps I'll bring some green tshirts for you.

I see so many complaints from so many people on here about the fan experience about videos, use of the lights, chants, etc. Now here’s your opportunity to make something look cool, and all people do is bish because it’s not orange.

Who gives a crap? Throw on a white shirt and make the dome look sick

They did this for basketball and it was a disaster. Planned for weeks, and nobody took part 🤣

Edit: That wasn’t on the athletic department. It was on the fans making it look so stupid. Just wear a damn shirt, ESPECIALLY white.

Undershirts, tank tops, everyone has a white shirt. Wear the damn shirt or don’t complain about lack of a gameday experience

Would make sense for the team to be in all white too, but that ain’t happening.
Eh. Cincinnati, whose primary color is black, had a "blackout." The team wore red on red. Colleges have a hard time executing, they are too busy teaching.

We wear blue at home. make it a blue out. That way the empty seats won't be as noticeable.

I think you can lump this in with the rest of the crappy marketing you just rattled off. This was announced to late, and White isn’t something a lot of Syracuse fans own or religiously already wear to the games, and why are you doing this for Colgate when you are going to have a half full Dome. Start marketing the Orange out for UNC now, and sending out communications about it so people can be prepared and ready.

Exactly.

Packers had a White Out last night and they announced it on August 15.

We just lazily copy other people's stuff. Penn State has a white out? Let's try that. 100k plus Michigan fans sing Mr. Brightside? Let's have the band learn it and try that too.
I am pretty sure we are doing this because some of the kids in Otto’s Army are obsessed with white outs.

Agree it probably comes from watching that school to the South do the same thing.

I will comply but keep hoping an Orange out is coming. I can’t think of a better game for it than UNC on Halloween night. Can we please embrace our color for that game?

If we're going to do a white out, it should be for basketball, and it should be when a blizzard is forecasted. Embrace the weather reputation.

Do I think they should limit their theme days to orange or orange/blue alternating sections?

Yes. I suspect Tomcat is right that the students have something to do with the white thing. Pretty sure that was the case last season.

Do I think they should announce this stuff before the season?

Absolutely. It's not that hard to plan and most schools announce them before the season from what I've seen.

If they do have orange outs, do I think free orange shirts need to be provided?

No. Most schools I have read about do not do this. As long as there is enough advance warning. I am confident that the fine people of my hometown can pull this off like others around the country.

I care, all those BLUE empty seats are really going to stick out on TV. Just no vision on this committee.
