Who’s back next basketball season? Early guesses, if any?

Guys it’s 2 losing seasons in a row. You don’t keep anyone.

Maybe at best you can live with a 24 year old man that plays defense but it’s not like you beg him to come back. If he wants to be a role player he can be that guy. Thats Kingz.

Thats it people. There are no 2 way players on this team that can compete with the top of the ACC and John Wooden isn’t turning them into those guys next year.

Freeman's issue is the way he wants to play is not aligned with what would make him really effective.
 
Kline, Anthony, White, and Kingz are the only names I think have any chance to stick around. Depending on the coaching hire I'd expect anywhere from zero to two of them.

When Dino got fired it wasn't a clean house situation. This...kinda is.
 
I’d keep Kingz(if he gets a waiver), Sadiq and Betsey(never enough shooting and thinking he improves).

I bet Anthony comes back. Freeman’s only chance of returning is if Hodgson is hired

Looking forward to never watching JJ or George ever again.

i think, it would be nice, if they kept ...

fennell, womack, diawara. that might prove to be some good depth.
white was probably the best improvement on the team, and about as advertised.
kiyan, if he wants to stay, but i'm not building the team around him, regardless of what
anyone says. he has a long ways to go before he is that kind of player.
and if he gets a waiver, i'd keep kingz. a shooter, who rebs and plays actual D? keep that always.

that would probably be just fine, but the coach should think about betsey, soare, and george, all
of whom have positives, but each of whom needs improvement. you always need 3 pt shooters,
size, and PG skills, but they gotta work. I'd fail to see the point of chasing off some players, only
to go and sign the same types, for more money. that just seems like a waste of time.

and you have half a roster, then you can focus on finding 4-5 solid players instead of a full roster.

Losingest group of players in a long time

I’m fine w no one. If melo stays and drops his 30mm I’d hold my nose w Kyan but that’s really it. New coach new players
 
Sadiq White and Nate Kingz would be the only ones I would “prioritize”, knowing that in this landscape they may prefer to start fresh as well. But they both play defense and play consistently hard. Kiyan is certainly an enigma in that you are almost certainly keeping him for the sake of what comes with him. That is probably a two edged sword.

Would be fine if Fennel or Womack wants to stick around and grow (same for Diawara I guess)
 
It’s hard to bring in 13 new players. We end up with what we had this year. A lot of role players and no stars. Every team left has a stud on their team. Several have more than one. We had none this past season. Miami went out and got two studs and then filled in around with a couple of good freshman and team guys. Roster building is the most important skill coaches have to have today. You can coach like a genius, but you have to have the right guys to win. You better check under the hood before you bring guys in. What you see is maybe not what you’re going to get. We had a couple of those guys this year.
 
Donnie stays if it’s BH. Kiyan signed 2 year contract so I expect him back. White is already getting other offers but he likes SU so who knows. Fennel gone. NG is going to have a hard time getting what he got this year as he completely robbed SU this year. Hope I never have to watch him again

Interesting. I think that Hodgson would get a lot more out of Freeman. Not sure how much Kiyan would play in his uptempo, no mid-range offense.

Thoughts about Fennell? I have to admit I wasn't that impressed in the times he did get to play. Looked a bit overmatched in my eyes. Seems like minutes were there if he was ready with the way George struggled at times. Does he still have a lot of potential in your eyes?
 
I expect any of the 3 finalists that we know of to get a lot more out of Freeman, and frankly everyone. Moving to an up tempo offense, with players that move constantly, will make a difference. Kiyan is a good slasher and could do well there too.

Not sure if he’s physical enough for this level of bball. He was pretty slow out there. But also told he’s gone
