Who are the fastest players on offense

We need him to play well enough against the lesser competition that we can have some hope that against Pitt/BC/UVA/NC State we can claw out some wins. We just may need to get to 4-1 in order to do that. People are expecting Dungey to make big improvements over the season, but I think it's more likely that his strongest showings happen early while there isn't a lot of film on him and Lester's offense remains semi-unknown.

I think the hope is that his growth counter balances some of that stuff. I'm most encouraged by his mental strides since camp - if that continues, they'll be able to game plan effectively (ie. Not simplify, but expand according to the D).

I know. Just think that's asking a lot of a true freshman QB.

For sure. But hopefully he learns a lot either way... And shows enough that we can have a 3-4 year guy.

We'll see if we can keep him up right. If we can, between him and Long I think we can get a 3 year starter.

Clay Austin and Jacob Hill, they both run in the mid 10's for the 100 meters

Not as worried about speed in this particular game versus execution. If we can keep mistakes minimal and just run our offense, we will score points and be just fine IMO.

Wake is not a fast defense, but they have great LBs. They need to be exploited by our XBs and I'm also thinking this is Ishmael's breakout game.
Wake is going to be a fun game, with lots of players and plays we've seen sparingly. Oddly, we've lost perhaps our two best players during the first game but seem to have decent backups in place. I'm one who thinks Dungey could be something special even this year, but think we have a number of playmakers so Dungey won't have to carry the load himself. Strickland, Fredericks, Hill, McFarlane, Estime, Ishmael, Morris, Lewis, Cornelius, et al. are a decent group of guys that can make things fun if they get into the open field with the ball. I'm really hoping Lester has some good schemes to do just that whether handing the ball off directly or by a wide variety of passes. This should be our first good opportunity to see the Lester system and his use of all of the playmakers at his disposal. I'm more excited than scared and hope most of you feel the same.

this game ish goes off after a silent game vs rhode island

I'd like to see some more Fredericks and Hill as well.
I have a feeling that we'll see the unveiling of our TE's tomorrow. I think Lester has been holding this position back until needed. I hope to see multiple TE seam routes against WF.

I've been hoping that Dunkleberger gets some touches.

I am frankly surprised how many here think this game is an automatic W with Dungey starting his first game and the injury to Erv. We can't afford another sloppy 1Q like last week. That might have been the worst 1Q I have ever seen from two teams. OLine needs to be big and we need to ground and pound. Wake has some good players on D. I think we win a close one but far from a a given.

By 1Q you mean the first 5 min, right?

Replacements will be used situationally I'd imagine. Lewis has strengths in blocking and the pass game, they'll most likely utilize him that way. Strickland I believe is stronger running and in space, he'll most likely be utilized that way. Perkins will be there for relief.

We'll be fine, not as dynamic, but fine.
legit question----i believe strickland has much more upside than lewis, does strickland have a problem with catching a pass?

If we dont win by 2 tds or more not a good sign for rest of yr

i was not impressed at all last week with oline. wf will visit dungey several times today, their lb are strength. the oline did not do great with r.i. and the d was not spectacular either. this is not a mail in game ----

I don't think they would have moved him there otherwise.

The D wasn't spectacular?!!?! 4 TO's, a safety, a pick 6, 2 first downs, 60 yards of offense.

Whoosh! Last bit of credibility just flew out the window.

Nope, you're right. We sucked in all three phases of the game. I can't believe the defense actually gave up 64 total yards and two first downs to RI. We're screwed.

Did you really say that the D did not do spactacular either? The D was absolutely spactacular in that game. That's why they have the number one rated defense in the nation right now. They were spactacular. There's no other way put it
