Who Cleared Waddle?

My son told me right after Waddle went in that all kinds of NFL players were tweeting (or whatever) that it wasn't worth it and to just sit out. Including Mahomes. "Courageous" is not the word I would use.

I'm pretty sure that the NCAA requires that all programs have a "designated team physician" to oversee the medical staff. Participation decisions are made by the medical staff, period, even on Saban's staff.

I get the "structurally sound" part, technically. But here's the thing, if you catch a crossing pattern and are running at 50% your normal speed with an abnormal gait, you are much more likely to get crushed by a defender.

So, to your point - I'm sure the ankle was structurally sound, but you are just a sitting duck out there to get a new injury or re-injure the one you have.

The young man wanted to play in the National Championship Game as it was apparently important to him. He made it through the game okay and contributed, good for Jaylen!

I am in no way an Alabama fan but it refreshing the way these young men put team first - and I'm not specifically talking about Waddle. They have 4 and 5 star guys taking limited roles and "waiting their turn" so the team can win a championship. I'm sure these same NFL players you mention thought Travis Etienne should not have come back to play this year and should have entered the draft. Again, that's his decision to make. Somethings are more important to some folks than money. People that put money ahead of everything else just can't understand that other people are wired differently.

Not buying it.. if you are in pain to the point your gait is effected you are putting yourself at risk for further injury just by altered mechanics

Who says he wasn't given the best advice? Maybe the doctors and parents told him not to play but he still decided to.
