I'm not sold on Hunt and I don't know if he really is the starter next year. It reminds me of Nunes' senior year. He could be the back up. This new system plays to the strengths of a pocket passer. I think Wilson may have the advantage.

Not a chance Wilson starts.

Agreed, but O'Korn is not a dual threat so I have to wonder. At Elmhurst Lester ran on a large majority of plays becasue he had that great back. I don't know how you can say that about AJ. I thought he was a terrible pocket passer. He was a turnover machine. He was better at play action. Wilson has the far better arm than AJ. In the limited time we had to compare the two arm strength was clearly on different levels. If Lester has a system he prefers it seems to me that he needs to stick to it and either play a dual threat or a pro style and not waste time. We have enough trouble running one type. Don't get me wrong, I am certainly at the point that I am for anything that seems to work. I realize that he is stuck with Wilson who he would not have recruited, which is why I don't see how O'Korn would fit in.

I can't erase Wilsons INT and AJ's TD throws to ISH from my memory.

Honestly, they both looked bad. I'm just higher on AJ.

Hunt starts and Long is the backup.

Next question.
What I find most amazing is how many people hated Hunt when he was healthy…and was calling for the back ups to start. After he got hurt, all the back ups got a chance to start….then all of the Geniuses and arm chair head coaches, ex pro coaches, etc. …etc. on this site understood why he was the starter. It is just hysterical now looking back. Maybe the coaches know more than we do. Just a thought!

I don't think you can assume anything based on formation. Lester was running with the QB out of 12 personnel at Elmhurst when he had a running QB.

I also think AJ was as good a pocket passer as Wilson showed.
There is more to passing than a strong arm. Wilson had the strongest arm on the team…no debate there….but he had no touch, poor accuracy and no sense of timing or delivering passes where only the receiver could get it..like back shoulder. AJ, did show a better sense for placing passes and back shoulder positioning and accuracy. I was not very impressed with Wilson…while I think AJ shows much more potential. He needs to get bigger and stronger and really should have had a true redshirt freshman year.

Hunt is the most viable option. Not sounding good on the O'Korn front as far as who will start in 2016...

sadly, our next great QB is no on this roster. Not close.

AJ was a turnover machine. He constantly threw it up for grabs. You can get away with that in HS but not in D1. His arm is pretty weak and he was exposed in the wind at Wake as well as when going to his left. I like his spunk, but so far, he is a couple of years away from playing at a P5 level, which leaves us with Hunt.

I love AJ but I feel as if he is better suited to be an H-back or a D-back. not a QB.

AJ can be a solid quarterback, he's certainly got the drive to do it.

He seriously needs 20-30 pounds of good lean muscle at a minimum though. Literally for safety purposes alone.

Unless there is some serious growth and development from one of the guys currently on campus, I don't see us as having even competent QB play next year in the passing game. The best I am hoping for is that Hunt has an RJ Anderson type of transformation from junior to senior year. So I'm voting "someone else," knowing that there really isn't anyone else.

i voted for wilson. love his arm and although he throws it a little high, which all big arm guys tend to do at 1st, with our new 6'3 240lb TE hunt, coming down with some of those errant balls, we will really move the chains this year. im ok with long coming in and doing a little wildcat/change of pace stuff too.

AJ, as a true freshman, should have never been out there. He has to mature physically, but he has moxy, shows great leadership, was more accurate than Hunt, and has the potential to become a decent QB.

Whoever is best. I'll form opinions moving forward based on how they play but right now I can't see one who is clealry better than another. Hunt runs well but couldn't hit the broadside of a barn last year. Long could pass fairly well and run fairly well when we gave him a chance but wasn't dazzling. Wilson has an NFL arm but isn't a runner and has a lot to learn. I think Edouard might have beatne them all out but that ship has sailed, for now.

Let's just get a good one and stay healthy so he'll have a chance to do something.

I certainly agree that he was forced into action far too soon. Whether or not he will ever become a good P5 QB is an open question. I hope he can as there is a lot to like about AJ.
