If the ACC pushes all teams to get to 10 P4 games next year...one of them has to leave the schedule in '26.

Yukon could likely be pushed back. I assume we are negotiating a multiple team swap of schools.

Toledo already hates our guts...lol do we piss them off more?

I'd make a list of G6 schools that can satisfy a P4 game.

Keep it to 10-15 or under.
Boise, Army, Navy, Air Force, Memphis, USF, SDSU, Oregon St, Washington St, Yukon

Lots of ifs, but if the logical actions are that this starts in 2026, the ACC adds a league game to our schedule, and everyone is still playing an FCS, then UConn has to go. Plain and simple.

I thought it started in 2027?

If it is next year wouldn’t it be most dependent on who we can get as our 2nd P4 OOC? Then we drop whomever is the same week currently (NH too).

Just read the other post that it's starting in 2026, which looks like we'll get the 9th ACC game next year.

Have to assume that's on the road with ND being on our home schedule.

@ UConn has to be the one to go if we have 5 road ACC games.

Or UConn becomes a member of the ACC and that is our 10th game.../ducks and scurries out of room
School Ugh GIF

I really wouldn’t mind UConn to the ACC. The Pittsburgh and Boston College rivalries just don’t have the same juice as UConn. It doesn’t feel right not being in the same conference as them. Think Duke and UNC not being together. The fact that people here are expressing their dislike of that idea is all the more reason it should happen.

This is what I am thinking….

I believe JW has confirmed SU has asked the ACC to change things so we do not play Pitt and BC both at home on odd years and both away on even years.

We are supposed to play both away next year.

My guess that we play one at home again in 2026. That gives us 5 home and 3 away conference games for 2026. And get an away ACC game. We played BC in the dome 3 years in a row between 2019-2021 so I am thinking Pitt will probably be asked to play here two years in a row. Also kind of makes sense since Pitt did not come here in 2023 because the game was moved to Yankee Stadium.

Agree if we add an away ACC game, we will push out the UConn game. If we add a home ninth ACC conference game, we will cancel or push out the Toledo game.

As an aside, I suspect Syracuse is going to continue to play an FCS game. As all or almost all ACC schools probably will. I think UConn gets most of their P4 opponents willing to play a home ad home with them from the ACC.

Will the ACC still continue to schedule these games with UConn given they really only have 1 game a season left to fill? Would they prefer to schedule MAC games? The competition to schedule P4 opponents to going to get a lot more intense. Schools like UVA and VT are probably going to be forced to schedule in state schools like Richmond, JMU and Old Dominion.

The NC schools will get pressured to play App State, ECU and Charlotte.

Hell, the state might put pressure on us to play UB or Stonybrook. I expect UConn is going to have a lot harder time scheduling ACC games in the future. My guess is that the G5 schools will end up playing most of their OOC games against each other. So UConn could end up playing Temple, Marshall and schools like that in the future to help fill out their schedule. It is going to affect them more than anyone. This is not a good time to be a low level independent.

Now this solution kind of makes sense so it is unlikely the ACC would seriously consider it. But you never know….

;)
