That might be the most blatant shun of Carrier so far.

It sounds like a fun night. I have a full plate but I might have to go anyway.
Right. "The Stadium". I know it's not Yankee Stadium but is it still located on 900 Irving Ave?

If you go you might want to bring your ear plugs. The old man in me might think the DJ's will be playing something loud and whatever the polar opposite of yacht rock is.

They will pay for their disrespect in the future if I and Weitsman have anything to say about! Right Adam? Are you there? Calling Adam Weitsman.

oh damn I guess I’ll have to do it myself

Over/under on how many 3s Mookie Jones jacks up that night?

Wish I lived closer, that looks like fun

Yes, I'll go with you triple b. I've asked my brother to see if he wants to go too, waiting on his reply.

Hey, fellow fans, are Kelly and I the only ones going to this event? Anyone else? Anyone?? :)

I am going to be in Old Forge. Have an annual golf outing the next day. Wish I knew about this earlier, bummed to be missing it.

Yeah this trope is getting old at this point. I wish the lawyers would either blank or get off the pot around this issue. If there's an exit possible figure out a way, if not, move on. it sounds idiotic that official University Communications can't seem to settle on a name for the largest building on campus.

I've said before, an easier short term solution is to refer to basketball games as taking place on Jim Boeheim Court and football at Ernie Davis Legends Field

here is an article about it written in August

"The game serves as a kickoff for the 13th CBT, the triennial on-campus celebration in honor of our Black and Latino/a alumni. Recently, some of the athletes returning to campus got together to talk about the game, its impact and their love for getting back together. It’s obvious they enjoy one another’s company and their memories of playing in front of the fans."

more

“For me personally as a kid who grew up in Pioneer Homes just a short distance from the stadium, there are certain things that make you smile,” says Rob Drummond, a former NFL running back who attended the University in the mid 1980s and will be taking part in the CBT Celebrity Classic. “My last game at the stadium the fans gave me a standing ovation. I had tears in my eyes. I won’t forget that moment nor the love I have for my teammates and the people here today. That’s what this is all about. It’s about family.”

It was great! Kelly and I laughed and laughed. The announcers were hilarious, many jokes about all of the players’ abilities, a lot of trash talking, funny fouls, etc. Owens’ team beat Coleman’s by one point. When they won, Lawrence Moten jumped up on the scorer’s table a la Devendorf. Very funny! Devendorf was clearly in shape and D Nic was a 3 point machine. I believe he scored the most points. Boeheim was there and did some good snark. Some of the current men and women’s team came. Joe Girard was there and his physique was quite fine, ahem! <Celuck>

The new Dome - or whatever it’s called - looked great and that jumbo tron was quite jumbo. Good lighting. I am not sure about the sound system. I pray it is better. I have heard it’s not. There was one nicely renovated bathroom for the women on the first level but otherwise they are the same as before. Don’t know about the second level bathrooms. My big beef is that there needs to be two women’s BRs for every one of the men’s. We’ll see Saturday.

I did not enjoy wearing a mask, especially at first. After a while something went “click” and I didn’t mind it as much. I noticed this when I was flying as well. Hope that happens on Saturday!

If they do this next year, and I think they intend to, people should consider going. It is great to see the past players and truly, you will laugh and enjoy it. It is good to laugh!
