Who is the better O line coach?

much better shot at a NFL career and a longer one at that.

the clark's always seemed to have an eye on what is best for them, cant really blame them i guess.

if you think you can get a paycheck, you find a way to make sure you get a paycheck.

Agreed. Hopefully, Macky will be around to tutor him?

I say you make a deal you honor it. Whatever the coaching staff told this kid during his recruitment is where he plays. If the chips are on the table you know what you are getting. If he was told he could start his career at one position you give him that shot and if it doesn't work out you can make the switch. If we are pulling the carpet it would be disappointing and would come back to hurt us.

I have no idea who is playing where, but the kid better be done a solid over trying to win this year.

Yep. What about the kid they actually recruited to play center from Chicago? There is no way it's a done deal as people have said here.

next staff can do the kid a solid, this staff needs to win NOW.

This staff can't go back on its word. I have no clue what they told him during his recruitment. I agree this staff needs to win and win now. However, they can't move him unless 1-the kid is okay with and 2-that was part of the recruiting process.

Shafer is going all in. I don't blame him. Trying to get his best athletes on the field now. He wont be worried about recruiting if he can't win this year. Looks like the kid has enough size, strength and acumen to start day 1 at center.

His number which is the same as Foy would suggest DL is the position he will be starting at

It is bush league. You don't recruit a kid and tell them your plan and change that plan to save your own skin. If in the recruitment this was discussed its one thing, but it dishonorable and hurts in the future if you aren't honest.

I have SS under the microscope and hotseat. With that said you do what is right for the kid and what you told him during his recruitment. Not what is best to save your job.

This is encouraging. Our coaches need to follow thru on what they say during a kid's recruiting process not what is best for them.

If I can't trust a person at their word they are dead to me. Parents and kids being recruited just deserve to be told the coaches plans for them. If the kid was aware of this being a possibility fine its fair. If this was not discussed in the recruiting process the player has been lied and that is unacceptable.

Silly thread. Hope Clarks pops is on it - that dude can bench the lot of you ;)

I agree. As I remember, playing DL was one of the things that put us over the top of the Gators. There have been a few posts on this board over the years criticizing other schools for this kind of thing. We all want to win but I would really prefer not to operate that way.

I hope his dad can clarify this. I think KCSU was right though based on his number being the same as Foy's. That would appear to mean defensive side of the ball.

If the DL didn't workout moving to OL would be fair game at that point.

Threatening to beat up people via the Internet is just one of many charms. :)

its a business and the kids are unfortunately a commodity---save your ass the kid still gets a free ride---dies it make it right? no. is it the way of the world ? yes ---

To dispel the rumors, Steven is DEFINITELY playing DT.
Thank you. This thread is an exemplar of the worst of message boards. Just one stupid a$$ comment after another without any substance or evidence to back them up.

fwiw, and in no way am i saying that this is indeed what is happening because I have no idea, but usually the player is the last person to find out about him potentially switching positions.

I'm pretty confident that this isn't the case.

The trolling in this thread reached epic proportions...

Thank you bcubs9497 for putting a handful out of their misery.

Hope Steven's transition is going wonderful.
Thanks!

Steven's doing wonderfully. Talked to him this evening. He told me he's up to 315 pounds now and getting very strong and quick under Coach Hicks' training.
