Who the hell is High Point??

High point also makes firearms. They go by the name hi point, so when the game gets ugly we have to look out for the carry conceal players.
Everyone in the Carolinas is carry/conceal! (Only slightly overstated)

To this day I'm still trying to figure out how he ended up at UNC. It seems like he should have been a walkon but as far as I know he was a full fledged scholarship player for four seasons.
koubek to dook was a no brainer.

evander lewis to st johns made sense.

Forth, obviously.

this was out of no where.

very small team. This is their team bus.

I wonder if she'd ride and let me drive??

Their big 2 players are John Brown who is a 6'8" forward who averages 19.4 ppg and 8.8 rpg and Allan Chaney who is 6'9 and is a Va Tech transfer (and former top 100 recruit) who averages 15.4 ppg and 8.6 rpg.

Chaney plays with a heart defibrillator (which is why Va Tech let him go). It activated during a game earlier this month, and on the advice of his doctors, he has quit playing basketball.

If you're going to schedule a high point or a cornell, let's do it the first couple of games of the season, not the end of the ooc schedule.
I'll have to disagree with you there. This is not the time of year to be scheduling tough opponents. Between the end of classes and Christmas, I'd rather see cupcakes. Nova on the 28th makes sense, Nova on the Friday before XMass does not.

Thats right. It happened around Thanksgiving. Completely forgot he had walked away. Kid was a decent player too.

Division I school in the mountains of North Carolina. We don't need top level opponents for every game.

It's in the Piedmont area of NC. Not too far from Winston-Salem or Greensboro.

I assume this is a joke, but either way, the bar business has not treated you well, Mr. Garrett. I know you're the best damn cooler in the biz, but maybe you've been in one too many bar brawls.

I'm pretty sure he was joking. Making fun of all the clueless people bashing Cooney like there's no tomorrow because he had one bad game. Don't worry, I caught your sarcasm Wade.

he used to be the best, but he's getting old

Very sarcastic, sorry if it wasn't obvious. I just couldn't help myself. Sorry for the bad joke to all that didn't enjoy it.

Yeah, I got the joke...I just wanted to have a little fun with the poster's name.

The Double Douche.

At least we're number two in basketball. What else matters? :)

Careful, some of the interlopers from football board have something less than a sense of humor ... but only in months that don't have a K in them. ;)

I live in Colorado now, and for some people High Point is around happ(ier) hour, except for the lucky or clever(or obsessed). "Not that there's anything right with that".

As for the college team and their career memories, the trip to the dome could be their high point.

Short Scouting report version

High Point Panthers
BigSouth Conference (same conference as UNC Asheville)

Returned all 5 starters from last years team. Favorites to win their division in their conference. Lastyear they won their half of the conference and then got beat by UC Irvine in the quarters of their conference tourney.

These are 2 pretty good bigs who will give our bigs a nice test but other than that they dont have much. They have played Georgetown who wiped the floor with them.

On paper they are the best team in their conference so it will not be a cakewalk game like say a Colgate.

Seems like these types of schools exaggerated their players (esp "bigs") heights even more than the rest. I recall several of those first round NCAA tourney games where we play a team that has some center listed at 6'8" and then his head only would come up to Michael Edwards navel

VTech dropped the kid for the heart thing?

I just want to get this straight, they told him screw your scholarship because of a heart condition, or told him he couldn't play but could keep the scholarship? Because if the former what a bunch of s

I thought it was a school from the state of Colorado or Washington ;)
