With Cooney, Ennis, Fair, Rak and Dajuan starting I am not sure we will have one.

CJ made a hell of a 6th man as a freshmen/soph, Grant still has to prove he can. I like the thought of a 6th man subbing in as a 3rd-4th scoring option like scoop/kjo did in 09-10 and CJ did in 012. Everyone said Dion was the 6th man in 012 but imo Fair was in the tough games, as Dion knew he had to be more then a 6th man.

I kinda feel bringing in CJ and Grant at the same time could be a better strategy. Making the adjustment to all of a sudden have to guard both of them would be a nightmare for any team in the country, and Grant would slip in secretly more. Once he comes in off the bench defenses are going to treat him as the starter reguardless. On the plus side having Rak and Dajuan to pound inside could frustrate opposing forwards, pick up a foul or two, and make them feel like they start off guarding our 6th man in Rak/Dajuan.

We really need to establish a 2nd true go to scorer before finding a offensive 6th man though. I just can't see Cooney being our 2nd go to scorer while Grant slipping in secretly as a 6th man the majority of the time. I can see the opposite with Cooney being a 6th man.

I could possibly see Gbinije coming in like 09-10 scoop off the bounce as our 6th man type if he learns to score from the midpost off the drive. I have heard he really can pound the offensive boards for a guard as well, and I think JB is going to push him to be that.

Something we should consider though, and I thought long and hard about this. We could have started Gbinije and Cooney as seniority, and brought in Ennis as a 6th man at the 16 minute mark with Grant.

Gbinije and Cooney are more then capable of handling the ball early on and throwing entry passes to Rak and Dajuan we wouldn't need Ennis' perimeter driving and isolation scoring. Gbinije could also pound the offensive boards early on. Then bring in Ennis and Grant together while leaving Fair and Cooney on the floor giving us our best scoring lineup as a 6th man lineup, shift our offense power to the right side more off the bounce between Ennis and Grant, and maintain the left between Fair and Cooney. This could really drive the game in our favor.

What does starting mean to Ennis anyway? By all reports he either is one and done or our starting pg next year reguardless, with a iq and the drive to do anything to help the team win.

Love thinking outside the box when it comes to my passions like Cuse hoops.

Gbinije or Cooney depending on who solidifies their spot as the starter. Rak will get the starts at PF but lets not kid ourselves, Grant will get the overwhelming majority of the minutes at the forward spot opposite CJ. He may technically be the 6th man (like Waiters) but everyone knows he's really the 'starter.'

Can I have some of what you're smoking, if you aren't sure that Grant will be our 6th man? It must be some good sh**.
Grant is undoubtedly the prime candidate with what appears to be unlimited potential. But, depending upon how much of that potential is realized this year, I think Gbinije is a reasonable dark horse.

I'm gonna have to guess the older man sitting in isle 113 in the front row waving and throwing the orange towel in the air. He honestly most likely won us some close games if you think about it. He's what we call a "Super Senior"

It's Grant. DC or Xmas will go to the bench when JB wants to change the lineup. First sub will always be Grant for a big.

Grant will be our best player off of the bench, but Gbinije may see more minutes, given the lack of depth at guard.

I think gbinje will go for around 22 and grant will get 27 ish.

I don't care so much as to who's the 6th man (but it should be someone who can bring in some scoring spark). What I really want to see is our "Starting Seven" as we had in the '09-'10 season. Grant, Keita and Gbinije should provide us with that (OK, OK, that makes it a "Starting Eight"), and any help from the Roberson/Buss/BJ combo will be a bonus.-VBOF

Very well could be. A lot will depend on Christmas and Coleman. Do they play well enough to give us the size monster akin to the one AO and Jackson allowed us to have in 09-10 or does one of them give JB a reason to pull them for Grant. Past experience suggests the latter.

Man, those guys will be really gassed. And the rest of team will be really pissed about never playing.

Nah, we're going to go right to the 8th man. No more, no less. Eighth will be the man we'll go to, and the man we go to will be the eighth. Sixth thou shalt not play, nor shalt thou play the seventh. Ninth is right out.

Grant or Baye depending on which big screws up a rotation first.
