Using Sagarin as the metric

VT is 79, BC is 90, Pitt is 75, GT is 76, Wake is 66.

Pitt and Wake are going to be coming off of brutal string of games themselves. GT is after Clemson and before UGA. VT”s offense is horrible.

SUs record against similar teams going back to 2021; Army 90-w, Purdue 60-w, NCSt 47 -w, UVA 88 -w, Purdue 53-w, BC 78-w, VT 79-w, Lville 52-l, FSU-62 l, Liberty 60 -w, Rutgers 88-l

7 straight wins

As long as they don’t lose any major pieces, 5-0 is very achievable.

5-0 is only attainable if the team and coaches can get their stuff together.

What would you personally say is the bare minimum they need to go in that 5 game stretch. 4-1?

beat VT and they all become winnable.. Lose and just getting to 6 is the goal.

none of them are any good.. but all have had a moment were they played above expectations.

was GT good for beating Miami while also being outgained by 200 yds?

If GT, or any opponent, is plus 3 in turnovers expect to lose.

Bare minimum we need to go for what? What we would be OK with? what we need to consider retaining Dino for?

I forgot what Dino's off of a bye record is but I believe it isn't good, as a matter of fact they usually come out extremely flat.
To clarify VT will be coming off a bye and SU will also be coming off a bye that week as well.

If we can get Isaiah Jones back one of these weeks soon that should make a significant positive difference in my opinion.

I'd love to see Jones healthy and that would definitely help.

I don't see us beating FSU. But after that out of the last 5 games I will be disappointed with anything lower than 3 or more W's. That puts us at 7 W's or more on the season. 6 or fewer W's and we need to at least start discussing a coaching change. Not positive I make one at just 6 W's though. It depends on how those games play out I'd say.

But really in the last 5 games i'd like to see 4 W's in that span. I don't think 5 W's is very likely. No way we don't mess up one of those games.

3-2 is best case scenario IMO. I feel like Dino waved the white flag with his NIL comments. If we lose Garrett it'll be 1-4 scenario.

I'm not sure what you guys have seen that provides this optimism. BC has improved a bit in the past few games. They aren't going to be a pushover. Castellanos will run free on us. Pitt at NYC is a weird game and at Tech is going to be very difficult.

Maybe i'm in an alternate universe but the performance at UNC showed me this team is sub sub par

Well, if we lose Shrader than all bets are off.

If he stays upright, then I disagree with your best case scenario.

My bare minimum if everyone comes back and no more losses is 5-0.

3-2 would be disappointing and underperforming
I can't go there. It's not like they are so bad and we are so good. 3-2 is the floor. But a 7 win season after winning 7 last year is at least a building block. 8-4 is a very good year for us.

BC is awful, Pitt sucks (any team that played something called Jurkovec is terrible), and VT is pathetic.

In the 30 games since Shrader has taken over, we have not lost to a team as bad as those last 5 teams. So losing one would be the worst lost and losing two the two worst losses over 35 games.

I guess it's all based on winning against Purdue because the other 3 games were against very, very weak teams. Purdue had to replace their coaching staff as well as their great QB. Early in the season against midlevel teams with new staffs is not really a solid win. And as you said, BC and I would add, GT and VT are improving. I'm sure Pitt will get going as they have recruited real well and want to save their season. Wake is very well coached and a good football team. I would say all 5 of those teams are better than the first 4.
