played 3 seasons. in 83 when he was 19 through 85 when he was 21.
I assume he sat out as a redshirt when he was 18 in 1982.
So why didn't he stay in Syracuse for the 1986 season? He didn't have a degree yet (that came in 1991). He was a 6th round pick. You don't see guys typically give up a year for 6th round money.

if you can lose a redshirt but still not earn a letter in 1982, then that would explain his eligibility being up
