I would think I'd be accustomed to handling missed opportunities and tough road losses this year but this seemed to be by far the worst of the four. You can always highlight some "what ifs" in a one score game, but:

If we weren't decimated by injuries at safety, would Cordy or Martin or even ellison been oin position to stop even ONE of the three long FSU TDs?

Wheel route on the first drive was a PERFECT call. There is NO defensive scheme where the FS is responsible for the RB coming out of the backfield - he should be doubling deep in the middle of the field. Yet there he was to jump the route and grab the INT.

Roughing the passer was an absolutely absurd call. Next play is the 60+ yard TD.

Take the 3 at the end of the half, but how did Dungey not see Pierce?

Fully expected Cole to make that kick and for us to win in the first OT.

How do you miss an offside call when the NG makes helmet-to-helmet contact before the snap? What else can a LJ be watching pre-snap?

Call the TO after the reversed fumble and we have enough additional time to run another play or three on our last drive. Lots of control to stop the clock when you have the ball. Zero control when you don't.

Beat MTSU.

For all opf Dungy's heroics, the INT really hurt. Despite our desire to get off to a fast start, FlaSt converted the TO into 7 pts, regained some of their lost mojo, got the crowd into the game, and never trailed the rest of the way. Those 7 pts were huge at the end of the game.

It's because we had a chance to beat fsu and clemson in the same year. Even for a team like Alabama that would be tough if they played them every year.

but if we call the TO we cant call it after the phillips catch or the dungey sack in the last drive.

It hurts because we believe again.

We beat Clemson, and we were legitimately the better team that day.

We had Miami on the ropes, we went toe to toe w/ LSU and the best NCSU team in a decade, and we had a legitimate chance to march down the field and beat FSU in their house.

('On the ropes' might be a little strong, but you know what I mean.)

We're close, but as seen by our record, we aren't there yet.
