Why did Tomaselli contact Davis before talking to police?

Because I was reading the fb page when all this went down and he seemed like a complete mess just trying to get attention. Said he contacted Schwarz who put him in contact with Davis, which just sounded crazy. Nothing about him seemed credible for a second, and then I see a few days later hes made the news.

Tomaselli's account is certainly questionable. And he certainly satnds to gain or at least thought he could gain police favor by accusing Fine

I don't think he was wavering. It's been awhile, so memory of it is fading. I think he said something along the lines of Schwarz wasn't sure if he wanted to run his story. Only thing I think I remember is he said he wasn't sure if he wanted to go on video. Did he HAVE to go on video? Couldn't he just have talked to the police? Talking to the police seemed to have gotten done what needed to be done (search warrant).

Without having any knowledge of the non-public information on this case, I would think Bernie's defense attorney is salivating at getting this case in court. Any half-competent defense attorney would have a field day with the credibility issues in this case.

Just playing devil's advocate here:

* Tomaselli may have indicated he was wavering in his interest in coming forward with allegations. Maybe Schwartz put him in touch with Davis in order to give him some support for coming forward?

* Also, Tomaselli's father may have molested him and is terrified that that information will go public (too late) and is trying to discredit his son before this gets too big.

Just grasping at straws here, I get a little tired of the lynch mob mentality after a few days of this crap (and more crap to come today I am sure.) I hate seeing Syracuse getting hammered like this but I also don't want to look like we don't realize there is a strong possibility that there is no conspiracy afoot.

His Facebook name changed from Ryan to Zach.

Well, these are all "if" statements so that is why I am playing devil's advocate. Noone thinks this guy is an all star human being, that's not the question. He can be a scumbag AND be right about abuse from Bernie.

The original police report said that Tomaselli was questioned by the police as to the layout of Fine's first home. Was anyone on the phone with Tomaselli and Davis. If not , you have to wonder if Tomaselli subtly abstracted info from Davis about the inside of Fine's first home or about what Fine liked to do. Tomaselli sounds very smooth and Davis was probably in cloud nine, and rightfully so, that he was talking to another person that claimed to be violated by Fine.

His father said he's a master manipulator. If I were Davis, with my own credibility problems, I would have refused to talk to him. But yeah. I hope they were in a monitored conference call, or something. But I highly doubt that. Probably just "here's his number."
