Why doesn’t the OC sit upstairs?

Let’s expand this question. Does the DC sit upstairs? Shouldn’t they?
I didn't see at Louisville, but at Duke both the OC and DC were on the sideline. With Lynch he and Dino often are next to each other talking.

Why does Dino where a head set then?

This year's O is duplicate to the O in 2015, 2016, and 2017 with one game left.

If they score 28 against Wake, it will have been the 3rd best offensive season since 2004 behind 2018 and 2012.

The D was a disaster this year.

this. Scoring 30+ is good...unless your giving up 50+ to your opponent

We're currently 75th in the country in total offense. Not as bad as the defense certainly, but this is horrendous under what is supposed to be a genius offensive coach. Next year has to be better than this.

Right

But historically speaking, this season is on par with 3 of last 4, and has an opportunity to end up as one of our better offensive seasons in this century.

Not saying it's great, but the D didn't help at all this year either - and that was supposed to be a strength.

We knew the O was going to take a step back.

I thought it was going to take a step forward.

Yards per play the D is ranked higher than the O. The D blows. But I never expected an O HC to have zero good seasons in yards per play after 4 years here.

In theory the D should get better with a new DC. At least we are trying something different. But how does the O get fixed?

Lynch: I think I'm going with the mac and cheese and pulled pork after the game, what about you?
Dino: Looks like the Pepto again for me bro
Lynch: Hey what just happened there?
Dino: SOB dude

You want coordinators on the field so they can see the game and talk to the players on the sideline.
In the booth you want what Bill Belichick has a non football coach assistant Ernie Adams who is telling him the players coming on off/down and distance, injury updates, personnel.

I don’t like coordinators in the booth. Put position coach assistants up there.

I see benefits of both. Some guys like tombe on the field where they can get a better feel for how the players are doing, some like to be in the booth where they can see the whole field better. There have been successful guys that prefer each, so it doesn't really matter.

Talk to the players about what? How often do you see any coordinators talking to the team?

In the booth you have the best vantage point of what is going on. You can’t see things at field level. Putting trust in the assistants to relay the correct evaluation is risky. I want my chess players to be looking at the entire board.
