I find Marrone's strategy akin to early Continental Armies in the Revolution trying to defeat the British in open warfare where that wasn't possible. Holgorsen, Kelly, and Leach have all retreated to the woods and play hit and run against that juggernaut and play the game in a way they can actually win. We have the Dome, we need to do the same.
